SERIAL PODCAST - Adnan Granted a new Trial

Damn... just knocked this out in two days after a colleague asked me in passing if I'd heard about it.

It's very easy to get sucked up into pointing the finger and attempting to make sense of it all but the fact of the matter is he's in jail for committing a murder, based off what's been presented can we beyond reasonable doubt say he COMMITTED the murder? No.

Is he minimizing his involvement? Possibly.

Is Jay a h0e one way or the other? For sure.

But again, did Adnan beyond reasonable doubt commit this murder? No, free this man b

I salute Serial for bringing awareness and presenting a well put together podcast

Just finished this in 2 days after being put on it by my friends GF. We are meeting up tomorrow night for drinks to discuss it. Lol.

I honestly don't know what to think. As someone posted, I don't think there was enough evidence to convict him. Do I think he did it? Thats an entirely different question.

I want to believe Adnan but it's also hard for me to believe that Jay would go to such great lengths to lie about it, even though his story was very very sketchy in terms of accuracy.

I need to look into this more and potentially listen to it over again. Such a dope podcast

I'm thinking Jay and Adnan both played a role but once the prosecutor provided Jay with a lawyer, they coached him what to say. If Adnan and Jay had both stuck together and claimed innocence, they would have both gotten off.

Maaaaaan
I started listening at work and I'm hooked
Listened to to first 4 then needed a break
Man I want to believe adnan
But damn dude just don't seem to remember anything

My boy told me about this last year, and I didnt budge. After watching "The Jinx", I was itching for another fix. This podcast is a good addition. I'm only episode 4 and trying to avoid spoilers, but I am so confused at the fact that Adnan hasn't accused Jay of possibly commiting the murder.

If I was innocent, and the only "witness" is some weed dealing dude giving all this detailed information about disposing of the body and what not I would be pointing fingers at him. Also, Adnan's inability to account for his whereabouts is a big problem. He was a smart kid, so I don't understand why he can't remember the details of the day. Not 15 years later, but at the time back in 1999. As a result Im asking myself, is this a case of convenient amnesia because he is guilty? If he is innocent, it seems like everything that could go wrong has.

Doesn't anyone find it hard to believe that a guy who kills his ex girl, would feel comfortable to discuss it in detail, and enlist the help of a person who wouldn't be considered his bestfriend, or trusted companion? And how the hell can a person who isn't close with someone, be so cool with helping them bury a body and get shovels from their home. This whole thing stinks.

aint really spoilers, since adnan is still in jail.
i believe both jay and adnan were involved. more than either one of them are willing to admit to it.

I know that, I only meant understanding how the story unfolds and what evidence ultimately leads to his conviction. For instance, I'm assuming Jay went to prision [for whatever length of time] for helping Adnan dispose of the body, which he admitted in his testimony. So far I havent heard anything indicated he was ever arrested. I dont know the law like that, but I'm assuming he would/should face jail time for something like that.

But jay didn't serve ANY jail time
Only like 2 years probation
Plus the conflict about the prosecution getting him his lawyer

I just got done wit the podcast last week... my thoughts:

-Jay and Adnan definitely had something to do with the murder
-Both of em was invloved in something much bigger that they never want to talk about thats why Adnan doesnt wanna blame Jay, and Jay story is so confusing at times cuz he purposely leaving details out
-i know a couple ppl that was locked up in Cumberland with him n they said Adnan is lowkey n nobody messes with him, he just be chillin...kinda like he got ppl lookin out for him since he went down for the murder and aint say nothing :nerd:
-The whole case from the police and prosecutor's side was bs n he never shoulda been guilty whether he did it or not

Just finished the ep where this was mentioned. Can't believe that wasn't looked at as a problem/conflict :smh: Did they do DNA samples of Hae's fingernails? I'm thinking if somebody is choking you or strangling you, you would be clawing at them trying to get them off of you. If Adnan did it whether planned or in the heat of the moment like they try to say. Wouldn't there be marks, scratches on his face, body? After all he was still a 17 yr old kid, not some Dexter type killer who can get away with something like that without a mark on his body.

There has to be some skin or something under her finger nails. Anyone else find it weird how acclimated he is in prison? Nobody messes with him, everyone is looking out for him. For an innocent man he settled in really well.

There definitely isn't enough evidence for Adnan to be in jail. If anything, Jay is more sketchy than he is.

Man wtf. I hate to gravedig but this podcast is my jam right now.

There is so much compelling testimony and evidence for both parties.

In me heart I want adnan and jay to be innocent but I feel they were both in on it and each one concocted their own story to save themselves.

Where do peeps stand now?

Is there any new news regarding this?

Did any of you guys watch The Jinx on HBO? I'm going through it now. Kind of similar to the Serial case, but interesting dichotomies with regards to the legal battle. Adnan's lawyer was hot garbage compared to Robert Durst's squad

Sucks for Adan that no matter what he has served so much time in jail

Well if he is innocent

I still am undecided about the case myself

Jay and Adnan are too sketchy if you ask me. I don't think either one is telling the whole truth after listening to the podcast. Adnan was his own worst enemy, and the fact that he isn't pointing the finger at Jay is bothersome to me. If you are innocent, and you lent your friend/aquaintance your car on the day your ex goes missing, and that same friend/aquaintance accuses you of killing her and enlisting his services to dispose of the body should have your red flags up all over the place. There is no way in hell you wouldn't point the finger at him to be the person responsible.

As for Jay, how was it so easy for him to just help someone dispose of a body? Adnan wasn't Suge Knight or someone to be feared back then, so I don't get how he could just go along with it like it aint nothing. Jay tried to act like Adnan was going to blackmail him about selling weed. Murder trumps selling weed everyday and twice on Sunday, so that excuse was lame as hell.

Watching Jinx reminded me of this podcast. My homie told me about it last year, but I didn't listen to it until Jinxed finished and I needed a fix.

THey say Adnan's lawyer Ms. Gutierrez was one of the best at one point in her career. It is messed up that Adnan and others around that time got her when she was on the decline due to health reasons and stealing money from her clients.

Let him tell it, he is the man up in there. Nobody aint messing with Adnan

There's going to be a new podcast titled Undisclosed: The State vs. Adnan Syed that is going to debut on the 13th. Looks like his lawyer is going to provide updates in this podcast. Milking the case for money I see... :rolleyes
