A friend of mine told me to check out this podcast. It's a story about the trial and incarceration of Adnan Syed. He was convicted of murdering his girlfriend in 1999 despite no hard evidence.

The author does a great job investigating the events surrounding this case and narrating the story. I was skeptical about how interested I would be. But if you have time definitely check it out. It's fascinating.

This thing is going to be huge. It seems like I hear about it everday.

I'm hooked. The narrator has the perfect voice.

Apparently there's a Serial subreddit which goes way down the rabbit hole.

It's a disgrace that this case even went to trial.

I feel the same way. Maybe thats just the way they're portraying him, as its only his side of the story. We'll see how it ends.

is it in the apple podcast app?

edit: found it

Good to see NTers on it :smokin

There are a lot of interesting theories out there. But the biggest question mark is Jay. How this man was a credible witness is beyond me.

Crooked cops and prosecutors for sure. Reminds me of the wire.

What's more interesting is WHO is that in your avy??? :nerd:

It's Katy Perry.

Word. I think Jay did it. What about the boyfriend from lenscrafters? Don't remember his name. Could've been him too.

Drove to Pittsburgh from Jersey today and listened to the first 5 episodes straight, very intriguing stuff, gotta get to episode 7 asap.

Props to OP for putting me on

I'm so ready for the episode tomorrow. The one thing that's stuck out most to me is Jay as well. How could he have been a credible witness? He lied on the the record multiple times and had sketchy behavior in general. So I hope there are some big reveals tomorrow.

Read up on some pretty good insight and theories on reddit.

I definitely think Jay is guilty of much more than we know. And I feel Adnan may have been involved. But the question that lends is why would he sit by idle and not put any blame back on Jay?

Such an interesting case.

just listened to the first two eps at the gym today. lowkey wanted to keep working out so i could start ep 3

It was definitely both Adnan and Jay.

Adnan was definitely involved from what I can gather. Jay obviously was too, how the hell can you not remember what the hell you did that day.. let alone not call your ex's phone after hearing she's missing for weeks (they still talked and were close). Very interesting story but aside from Jay trying to save his own a** (and being successful in doing so) and changing his stories around, idk how Adnan is being seen as someone who isn't guilty considering all the clues.

The problem with this case is that there many things that make you question what happened and who did it. Yet somebody is in jail for it. How can you convict somebody just because they probably did it without having a solid case to prove it.
