Bought some DIS in after hours. On the 3yr chart it is hitting the bottom of the channel. Hopefully we get a relief rally tomorrow

Just put in a bid this morning for more positions. I'm expecting it recover by at least $2 can't keep a solid stock down for long. Or maybe this was the unicorn correction that was supposed to happen.

FB hit that $88 level I wrote about a week or two ago. Let's see if that becomes support if not, things could get ugly. May play for a bounce today, but I need a legitimate reason to do so, this market could be breaking down. Have a plan, manage risk, and don't get hopeful in case this is a legit selloff and not an opportunity to BTFD.

Yea, I should've diversified but kept procrastinating on securing some bonds. I was afraid the Fed was going to raise rates as soon as I did buy some :smh:

there must be a ton of volatility in the market today. options are priced like its a freaking tuesday and they expire at 4pm :x dont think i'll be trading anything. not spending a buck on atm options or going otm on expiration.

Thing that pisses me off more is that I didn't put in any Stop-Losses after I purchased any shares. I figured since I didn't have that many shares that it wouldn't be that big of a deal, boy was I wrong. DIS is sub $100 :smh:

live and learn, nothing you can do.

playing an iron fly may have been the move today. capture the volatility and time decay. i took too long pricing stuff out but it probably wouldnt have mattered, etrade takes forever to fill so i probably wouldnt have ever gotten filled.

Yea, true. Tradeking is the same way. Quotes are a little behind which hurts my entry position when things are getting crazy. Right now I'm placing stops and will reinvest w/ the earnings I still have

etrade is fine for standard puts and calls but when it comes to spreads they take forever :smh: i really should be on tos but its easier for tax purposes to stay with etrade right now.

idk what your averages or position sizes are but just be patient and have a plan. DIS is great long term, i'd be starting in at these levels, but depending on your avg I could understand the discomfort at the moment.

My avg is $104 and it's down to $97. PYPL is worse, but again, it's my fault for not paying attention. Live and learn

the chart's broken a little bit but it could maybe find support around 94 or 90. stuff like this is why i hate investing  the best advice i can give is either trade around a core, or learn how to hedge. I've got a buddy in a similar position, he wants to hold aapl and dis long term which is great, but he refuses to learn how to hedge. i tried warning him but whatever, that's his problem. plus side is he's only invested money he's comfortable losing completely. but still, hedging is so important if youre an investor.

 sounds exactly like me. My thing is, I'm only investing in small shares and building up. Only have 3 shares of AAPL and DIS and it's $4.95/transaction so it seems counterproductive.

i wouldnt even fret then  just be diligent and nibble here and there when it makes sense for you.

he buys 1 share every now and then so you guys are very alike.

Yea, I'm holding 8 stocks right now. I think I'm going to just cut the loses w/ a few and concentrate on a few ETF's or Bonds.

portfolio was +7% just a week ago, now at -11%

Yikes, I'm still up at least 6%

what are you holding?

technically, you're not supposed to sell on days like today. but of course, one day, you're gonna be better off selling. it's a tough game to gauge. if you don't have a lot of size and have a long term outlook, you might be ok. it all comes down to your personal preference and risk tolerance.

AAPL :x wish I had a bigger account to start in on some long.

Yea, I'm completely long term. Trying to build for college and retirement. Since my holdings are small I feel like I'll ride this rollercoaster and as soon as it gets back up to where I'm comfortable, I'll make some changes. Hopefully it's before the Fed makes their next announcement about interest rates.

just have a plan and see where things are at the end of the day. we're basically pushing support in SPY (199.56) and it's really make or break territory. it has been a BTFD market but who knows anymore. these issues are exactly why i hate investing  i would only be able to do it if i hedged/traded around a core.

Shoulda went all in on some AAPL puts last week :smh: Oh well, BP doing good things too.

Just hopped into the triple-levered oil ETF game at .95 cents on UWTI. About to double-down if it hits .70 and just sit on it.

ETSY is starting to look REAL good. May also hop into NFLX if it dips to 100.
