Freddie Gibbs Survives shooting in Brooklyn N.Y.

Freddie Gibbs nearly lost his life last night during a shooting that took place after his concert in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The show actually went off without incident on Tuesday evening (Nov 3) at the Rough Trade record store. Following the successful performance, Gibbs was in a black SUV parked at North 9th Street near Wythe Avenue. That’s when a lone gunman fired multiple shots at Gibbs and two people with him. Gibbs’ DJ reportedly suffered a minor leg wound and another victim was struck in the hand.

According to police, the shooting took place at 1:13 a.m. and no arrests were made in the case. Freddie’s crew members are reportedly in stable condition at Bellevue hospital in New York.


“They tried to kill Tupac. They tried to kill me,” Gibbs told The Post outside the club. “I’m still alive.”

that's one of my best friends who's his DJ

& was reportedly hit. 

i haven't been able to get a hold of him.

needless to say, i have mixed feelings about how gibbs is handling this.

i get it, it's 2014 & alotta people in the rap game are goofy/moist.

but still, you don't wanna make yourself vulnerable/a target

by invoking your name with 2pac's. that's not a good look. 

that's some self-fulfilling prophecy **** & anyone that's smart

knows better than to even bring that kind of energy around. 

and all this "still livin" posts he's done via social media the past

24 hours? once again, i get it. i just prefer for him to take this a 

little more serious.... either ignore it completely, or handle it on

some marlo **** like "they hit one of ours, so they gotta fall"

i repeat, 2 doods in his crew were hit 

but this dude wanna tell jokes & be digitally cute about it. smh.

yea that was real lame by GIBBS & to be honest the whole thing sounds staged....why would a dude wait all night to get at you to kill you?? why would anybody from NY wanna kill him anyway?? whole story seems off....

"The gunman was spotted fleeing east on North 9th Street. Gibbs’ DJ and another member of his crew sustained minor injuries from the shooting and were taken to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan to be treated for their injuries, and are listed as being in stable condition.

There is a surveillance video showing that the gunman had apparently disguised himself with a black hoodie to blend in with the Gary, Indiana native’s entourage for most of the night, including their time in the Guardian Green room of Rough Trade, according to police.

There was another man who was an allegedly hanging with the gunman during the night. An investigator reportedly told Gibbs that the surveillance video shows the shooter was standing right next to him at one point. Gibbs notified investigators that he had neither knowledge of who the gunman nor who his cohort was, despite them acting as if they belonged as members of his crew.

Police also stated that Rough Trade’s security measures were low, citing no metal detectors nor checking customers for weapons upon entry prior to the incident.

As the case is currently under investigation, the gunman has not been identified, nor arrests have been made yet.
 
I don't think son would risk shooting 2 members of his entourage for a planned headline.
 
Glad gibbs is ok I'm a fan of his. He's always getting into it on twitter with people wonder if its over some ******** like that. I remember one time he kept rt'ing death threats saying he wouldn't make it out of his Detroit show alive and he kept egging them on smh. Who would've thought it would go down in Williamsburg.
 
Only question I would have for Gibbs is, "if you had actually died, would you have been content with the legacy you were leaving behind"?

i remember this too.

especially the "egging them on" part,

which is basically what he's doing again now. 
 
I don't know man. I guess I haven't really followed him as closely the last few years since he really started to make some noise but I used to read/watch his interviews and stuff. He always seemed like a pretty intelligent, humble, down to earth, thorough type dude.
 
Obviously jim jones is the one who putting pressure on gibbs
 
By not too smart I mean going at random people threatening to kill you. He seems like a cool dude other than that lol
