Selling Sneakers Tips

I'm old school, I still use tagged pics with post it notes. eBay is your best bet, confirmed address and sig confirmation. Transfer the money over as soon as you receive it.
Does it clear right away? Like if dude paid me today, I could transfer it to my bank same day and ship stuff out the next day or even that same day if the post office is open?

How many pairs fits in a large USPS flat rate box?

2-3 days to fully clear BUT transferring to your account doesn't save you from anything. If they make a claim your account will go negative either way.

how do I avoid this issue? signature confirmation?

Man honestly if they file a claim they file a claim. You can't do anything to prevent it but there are SOME thing you can do to protect yourself if they do. Sig confirmation would be one of them.

Overall it's a buyers market. If they claim you sent them a box of rocks and they send you back a box of rocks you're SOL. It's an extreme case but I'm just giving an example

No problem man. 2 summers ago I unloaded over 150 pairs. Used craiglist and ebay and it worked fine. Finally realized having a room full of shoes is a waste of time, money, and space.

Used everything I made as a down payment for my house and my new truck. ZERO regrets.

Anyone know how many pairs I could fit in the USPS large flat rate box?

My dude, I would recommend that you sell your shoes in small quantities. No more than 2 pairs to the same person - especially if you've never dealt with them before. And even if you have, don't go more than 3 pairs.

I've been selling on/off on eBay for the past couple of years and only this year I had some clowns file charge-backs and unauthorized purchase claims. The key here is to keep all your shipping receipts and ship with a service that offers tracking, proof of delivery (via an online certificate), or signature required. If they do file the claim, you send PayPal copies or pictures of the receipts along with the tracking information. 99.9% of the time they will cover you provided that you ship to the buyer's PayPal address. Do NOT ship to an alternate address NO MATTER WHAT sob story they give you. I find that with the 'sneaker game' exploding you have cats who THINK they can run fraud or scams with no consequences.

As a seller you do what you can to protect yourself. If you decide to sell on eBay - start with your least valuable shoes and work your way up. For anything valuable - $100 and above, I highly recommend that you take pictures showing your name/address and their name/address at each stage of you boxing/packaging the shoes. This will cover you in case you get some scum who file an 'Item not described' claim. Lastly - if your shoes are used, take as many pictures as you can and be truthful in the descriptions but importantly price them accordingly.

I sent an invoice to mrrolex mrrolex for 3 pairs of shoes that are DS. We agreed on a fair price. I'll only ship them to his confirmed address once he pays. Will 3 pairs fit in the large flat rate box? I texted him pics of the kicks and he didn't have any qualms with them. I will be doing the confirmed signature as well.

Another thing is to transfer the money in your paypal to your bank account asap to avoid chargebacks.

You don't have to use the USPS boxes - look around the house and see what's laying around. If you live in a building check your recycle bin and see if you find some flattened boxes. Just reassemble, stuff them with newspaper and you're good to go.

After you receive the alert that MrRolex has paid your invoice, LOG IN TO PAYPAL and verify that you have the funds. If you just opened your PayPal account - there is a delay before you can withdraw funds so keep this in mind. The key thing is to ACTUALLY make sure that you have the FUNDS IN YOUR PAYPAL account and are not being tricked by a scam e-mail.

As before, ship the shoes to him with a tracking and signature service. Since it's 3 pairs - I would take pictures of the shoes with his and your address just for safety. Upload the tracking information once you have shipped it out.

Good luck!

Always use sig confirmation. I sold my nike air trainer pro bowl on ebay and the buyer claimed that i sent him an empty box. Ebay and paypal sided with me, but he did a credit card chargeback and both ebay and paypal can't do anything about it. So i lost the battle. Took about 2 months . So from now on i always add signature confirmation to all my shoe listing. Its better to spend $2-3 for the signature confirmation than to loose $180.

your paypal will still be negative, if you don't have money in your paypal account, so you won't be able to use your paypal anymore.

Did they have a tracking number?

Yes, they have everything. Thats why ebay and paypal sided with me.. But the only mistake i have was signature confirmation. But even then they could just say you put rocks in the box and they can still get the chargeback. Smh.
