BORDEAUX 7S JULY 18th 2015

Now that I have the Hares, I turn my sights to the Bordeaux's!!!

Wonder if the hype will be the same!? I'd love to hear some arguments as to which is preferred Hares vs. Bordeaux's and why!?

Don't think I'll be able to answer until I have both in hand.

Bordeaux's over all other VII's. But Bordeaux's are one of the shoes I had when I was a kid so they're speacial too me.

Hares. The apparel, the commercials, the story, think the fact we've now seen the colorway transferred to a bunch of other models says a lot. That being said I think the hype for the Bordeaux's is going to be high as well though.

I think it's funny how someone said a few posts up that Bordeaux 7's over any other 7 colorway, when back in 1992 these were the least popular by far.  I barely ever seen people with them, and the people that did have them were people that bought them on sale because they never really paid full price for Jordans.

Don't get me wrong the Bordeaux is sweet, just funny how a sneaker that wasn't very appreciated back in the day, is now highly coveted.  Kind of reminds me of how no one wanted the laney's 5's back in 2000, and I was able to pick up a pair for $79 bucks at the outlet mall.

The last retro of the bordeauxs sat as well. I grabbed them like 2-3 weeks after RD. Glad I did because they turned into my favorite shoe.

Also, I'm looking forward to adding these to my collection though.  So far all I need to complete my 7 collection is YOTR, Ceramic, Olympics, Orions, Flint Grey, and Bordeaux

7's I have as of now...

Chambray
Cardinals
DMP Raptors
GMP 7's

2 French Blue
Barcelona Days
Barcelona Nights

2012 Raptors

2002 Raptors

Hares

Citrus

-The colors of bordeaux have become more 'normal' since 1992 like early 2000's pink and purple were just making they're way in streetwear again.

-90's hype is at an all time high, I imagine most buying these probably haven't seen Jordan play and don't care (thats fine)

-people who did grow up with it and missed out now have cash in their own pockets to buy em 23 years later lol.

-People who had the old pair bought for them as a kid, nostalgia boom.

-Jordans already got the hype train running by focusing on numbers

-'improved quality'

-Resell culture is at a high with people buying full size runs to make 5 dollars off each pair if they have to, it takes like nothing to make a shoe highly coveted now

Well I got them back in 1992 and they have always been my favorite VII. didn't care about what other people thought about them, all I knew is I liked them.

The Bordeaux 7s and Aqua 8s have been my favorites for years. I like Black based shoes, I also like the Bordeaux, AQUATONE and concdord colors they sport instead of the typical red. I liked then when hype wasn't sky high and I like them now.

But 90s hype is at an all time high. From 90s Jays to DBZ coming back I'm not complaining at all.

Yup didnt care what people said back then i loved um.

Went to the mall got me the bordeauxs on release day and a san francisco giants starter parka it was a great day

I sold my chambrays i regret that. Got the 2011 for me and my girl probably gonna cop again even though theyre tanks and look brand new after several wears.

They had tons of left over pairs of Laneys at my HoH. I work at the mall and got off work at 6 so I decided to stop by out of curiosity. Dude told me they had full size runs of unclaimed pairs so I bought 1 for myself and 3 for coworkers.

I passed on Hares, Bordeauxs were my first pair of Jays when I was a kid so I have sentimental value to this shoe. My 2011 pair is ready to be retired. Hoping to double up on this release.

What's the VII like these days?

Havent owned a pair since the 2002 attempt at the Charcoals.

Bordeauxs were my first Jordans, and as mad i am at JB these days...Nostalgia has me considering my first JB purchase since xx3

Varies from place to place. Cardinals were by far least popular around me

But like you say, things change. Back in the day seems like everyone thought the olive ix were the worst thing a jumpman was ever put on.

Can't wait to cop a pair of these only thing i'm worried about is keeping that suede/nubuck material clean.

I see already in just a few hours of ownership with the Hares that this is going to be a challenge!? Light suede... Oh Lord!!!

Same thing that make you laugh will make you cry. I fear that could be the case with the Hares and to a lesser extent, the Bordeaux's.

I'll be keeping these and the Hares DS for some time, as I wear my J's in least favorite order. It's gonna be fantastic having both of these fraternal twins in my collection!!!

Year of the 7 BABY!!!
