I think the argument was that that one dude wants Bordeaux 7 retro release this summer to be closer to OG form. better than the 2011 was.

The other dude is like "you weren't even there to experience the lighter green or the darker midsole, what does it matter? at least you get the shoe again..."

Both arguments are understandable, but like that other dude said, JB set themselves up with the expectations we have. With the conception of retro Jordans in the first place, a dose of the past in a product released in the present. We expect things to be the same, if not then similar. The remaster concept further magnifies this topic by JB clearly stating that the goal is to have remastered retros closer to the originals in terms of materials, color, and overall shape starting 2015.

so basically it's like, we expect it. I mean why anything else, ya know? We're paying $190. The $150 in 2011 is cool and all, but since then the company has gone in a new direction by unveiling this remastered stuff. $150 might have been cool for close to the OGs, but now its 2015 and we have access to 1992 pairs and can compare, I'm sure JB can as well. Sure the 2011 release is holding up really well, but its not about durability of cheap materials, its also shape, form, colors, and quality of materials used.

So again its like, we expect it. ya know? :nerd:

And btw, if rolex released a watch in 1960 with a certain quality and then reintroduced it in the 90s or 2000s, I'd expect the same quality. I know I'm comparing luxury watches to sneakers, but IN 2015 WE HAVE SEEN THE JORDAN BRAND COMPANY PUBLICLY ACKNOWLEDGE THE QUALITY CONCERNS. they know good and well how we'd receive any alterations or cut corners. And to further elaborate on my example, I don't care if I was born in 2003 for example, if I have rolex money (paying customer) and I am aware that the product was once released with better quality, whats wrong with me wishing the for the same quality? After all I am a customer and customers have the right to complain and ask for better quality when researching the product in question and learning that it was once available in better quality. customers = most important aspect of any business.

You hit it on the nail with this post. My logic is, if I want the shoe and am to spend my money on it, I have a right to at least expect it to look a certain way.  JB has made it to where people's expectations are so low, and people expect something further and further away from the originals for an even higher price of $200!!!! I think everyone on NT should realize the fact that age doesn't matter, the dollar does. And with this remaster going on, JB has set themselves up to deliver more than they were expected to back in 2011.

Yeah I guess on point is the wrong way to put it. By saying on point I meant a decent retro, I didn't mean they were exactly the same as the OG's because we all know that's not the case. I guess what I'm trying to say is, people just like to complain about every fine detail about a shoe and it's crazy. OG's had flaws and weren't as perfect as people would like to believe, I had OG's if that means anything.I know the 2011's are not exactly the same as OG's but to say they are crap is just not true.
Yeah, I feel you. This "remastered" stuff is just makin' me cranky. I don't mind payin' the money but JB needs to deliver. I think we'll know by the end of the year if JB really tried to make better sneakers or if they were just blowin' smoke...

The real discussion will begin once pics leak...

Seems like they are doing it on releases like the Chicago 1s so maybe its an OG thing. The Columbia 4s and Oreo 4s were around during the Lifestyle days so its hard to make the mold in the original form. So the real test will be when original colorways that Mike wore in his Chicago days start to resurface. Im going to keep an eye out on those AJ 10 double nickels.

The colors have been pretty close to the original but all we have seen is the 10 and Chicago 1s so its still too early to tell.

But mold is something I REALLY hope they get right because with certain Jordans its so crucial. I agree with the above post about them setting the bar so high based off of their claims and one way to end that argument is to bring em back in OG mold.

IMO 1, 3s - 7s mold is critical. Especially in the case of the 4 cuz it was a "cross training" jordan where it wasnt exactly a tall bball sneaker and not short enough to be a runner. It was a hybrid of sorts..

When pics finally drop I'll be at ease. This is one of my favorite shoes so either way I'm going to purchase these just like I did white the Black and White Infrareds. Who knows when these will come out again?? Even if they don't fix the mold I at least expect colors to be(more) on point.

my favorite jordan period. had them when i was younger, copped 2 in 2011 and might double up again depending what they look like, i do feel like it's too soon for this retro though, but that's the trend now. the 2011 was more then on point,  im so interested to see what remastered version they will put out.

wear the 2011 & keep the new retro ready for action. or wear both in rotation, lol thats up to you. i plan on keeping my ds pair that way for a while, still gonna cop the new release tho. my rotation pair is still very clean.

I would wear the 2011 and keep the 2015 "in stock if I was in your shoes (Master Splinter voice: I made a funny); it doesn't make sense to Un DS if you have the same shoe despite it being a "remastered".
