Blizzards OVERWATCH - Team Based Shooter

Overwatch gets Summer Games update (new mode in Weekly Brawl, new skins/etc)

For the next three weeks, we're celebrating the spirit of competition in true Overwatch fashion. Earn special seasonal Loot Boxes, collect over 100 new cosmetic items, and hit the field with your friends in our latest brawl: Lúcioball!

GO FOR THE GOLD
Starting today (and for the duration of the event), any new Loot Boxes you earn or purchase will be sporting an updated look, but the packaging isn’t the only thing that’s changed!

Inside, players will have a chance to find a variety of new cosmetic items commemorating the Summer Games—including themed sprays, emotes, victory poses, highlight intros, player icons, and some very special skins. Though they can't be purchased with credits, each seasonal Loot Box you receive is guaranteed to contain at least one item from our Summer Games 2016 collection.

PITCH PERFECT
Our Summer Games event wouldn't be complete without a display of athletic expertise, which is why we're unveiling a brand new brawl: Lúcioball! This futuristic spin on soccer places you in a fast-paced, 3v3 match featuring everyone's favorite beat-dropping Brazilian.

Teams will face-off in the beautiful Estádio das Rãs, located in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. Equipped with jump pads and speed-boosting walls, this unique arena amplifies Lúcio's abilities, allowing players to punch, glide, block, bounce, and boop and their way to victory.

Each game of Lúcioball lasts four minutes, and the team that scores the most goals in that time...wins!

Speaking of abilities…understanding how Lúcio interacts with the ball is the key to mastering Lúcioball. For this brawl, his primary fire has been replaced with a melee attack, allowing Lúcio to punch the ball—perfect for dribbling, passing, and shooting from short range. When you need to launch the ball across the map, Lúcio’s alternate fire emits a blast of sound that gets the job done nicely.

Unlike other game modes, the speed boost from Lúcio’s Crossfade only affects himself in Lúcioball (Amp It Up will still increase that boost, as normal), and his ultimate ability, Sound Barrier, now pulls the ball toward him from anywhere on the field.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN
This is our very first seasonal event in Overwatch, but there are more on the horizon. We're not quite ready to reveal our plans, but you can expect to see more festive Loot Box items, maps, and modes in the future. So, keep your eyes trained on playoverwatch.com for more information, and don't forget to follow our Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels for all the latest updates.

Anyone on PC above competitive rank 60 and main Zen?

My team of 66+ is looking for a Zenyatta main. Get at me.

This new brawl :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

Ya boy need to buy some loot crates :smh: that American mccree is calling my name.

Dropped from 54 to 47 by playing competitive solo. I've never played such A big game as quiet as this one. Xbox should enforce a no party chat on a few games. I miss that about live before party chat.

Yeah 53 only solo que. I ain't got the skills to carry a team like I see some of the best players do. This game is all teamwork but if you can get nice picks early on a team fight it can change everything.

Throwedspitta pc can be the same at times. It's weird if you're in a group you're automatically put into a private chat instead of team chat. I hear a lot of complaints on Reddit about it. Hopefully they remove private group chat for competitive. Or at least make it so you're in team chat first.

What I do like about the PC version is the fact that you can type in things to the chat. That's hella clutch.

Yeah that's makes a huge difference since everyone has a keyboard and usually at least chats. Also PC gets all the patches way sooner :pimp:

Been going hard with McCree lately.. Most my playing time was with roadhog my hook game on point

Bruh i rage so much on OW. Dudes don't play as a team. Dudes go in lone wolf style and get destroyed. Dudes don't look out for the teammates. Don't stack Ultys. The list goes on for days. I always get the a**backs

i thought this thread would be jumping more than this…..yall heard about Sombra?
Surprised me as well considering this is now the fastest selling PC game of all time? Maybe I read it wrong. And there's over 18m users.. Aint none on NT :smh:

Yo add me on PC I'm basically a pro! Battletag : Flankenstein#11641
I'll add you tonight fam..What rank are you in competitive :nerd:

Overwatch Winter Wonderland Mei's Snowball Offensive

JINGLE ALL THE WAY TO OVERWATCH'S WINTER WONDERLAND
by Blizzard Entertainment 12/13/2016

Jingle All the Way to Overwatch's Winter Wonderland

It's the most wonderful time of the year, and we hope you'll join us for some holiday cheer!

That's right—Overwatch is getting into the holiday spirit with a brand-new seasonal event. We’ve decked the halls of Hanamura and King’s Row, stuffed our Loot Boxes full of festive goodies, and arranged an extra-special snowball fight for you and your friends. So, grab a mug of hot cocoa, put on your favorite ugly sweater, and get ready to jingle all the way to Overwatch's Winter Wonderland!

Starting today, all in-game Loot Boxes have been replaced with our impeccably wrapped Winter Loot Boxes, and they’re filled to the brim with over 100 new cosmetic trimmings!

As with previous events, Winter Loot Boxes can be earned or purchased, and each will contain at least one item from our 2016 Winter Wonderland collection—including profile icons, sprays, victory poses, emotes, highlight intros, skins, and more! While the contents of each seasonal Loot Box are random, you can unlock a variety of these cordial customization options in the Hero Gallery throughout the event’s duration.

Once you've unlocked an item, it will be yours forever, which means you can get into holly jolly hijinks all year-round. The collection will be dashing back into the vault on January 2, however (when the event concludes), so be sure to fire up your favorite gaming machine and celebrate before it’s too late!

During this year’s Winter Wonderland event, you’ll also be able to queue up for a brand new brawl: Mei’s Snowball Offensive! Mei’s Snowball Offensive is a 6v6, single-elimination shindig featuring everyone's favorite climatologist—and she's got a few new tricks up her fur-lined sleeve.

In this brawl, Mei's Endothermic Blaster no longer unleashes a stream of frost or shoots icicles. Instead, it's been modified to fire a single, super-powered snowball. Taking down an enemy only takes one hit, but a miss can be costly. Once your weapon is empty, your enemies will have the advantage as you search for the nearest snow pile to reload, so don't forget to cover your retreat with ice walls and cryo-freeze to block their attacks—and when the battle starts to heat up, you can activate Mei's Ultimate, which turns her blaster into a semi-automatic snowball launcher, allowing you to fire continuously as your enemies scatter.

We'll also be spreading some good tidings and cheer over on our social media pages, so be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for a steady stream of joyful gifs, merry memes, and more—and don't forget to keep an eye on playoverwatch.com for the latest game news!

Stay frosty, heroes, and happy holidays from all of us at Blizzard Entertainment. Winter Wonderland is live RIGHT NOW on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, so get in there and get merry!

Dope, can't wait for the event.

On another note. Is anyone playing on PS4? I feel like I usually get stuck with people running around doing their own thing and not being team players on competitive. :smh:

Check the sig and send me a friend request!

WELCOME TO THE YEAR OF THE ROOSTER
by Blizzard Entertainment 01/24/2017

Welcome to the Year of the Rooster
Gather your family and friends, heroes, and get ready to ring in the Year of the Rooster!

Overwatch's Lunar New Year celebrations have begun and we hope this seasonal event brings you happiness, prosperity, and (most importantly) lots of fun. For the next three weeks, players will have the chance to collect over 100 commemorative cosmetic items, enjoy a firefight beneath some fireworks on Lijiang Tower, and work together to capture the flag in Overwatch's newest brawl mode.

Good Luck and Great Fortune Await

Starting today, our customary Loot Boxes have been replaced with our lucky Lunar Loot Boxes—and they’re packed with one heck of a (primal) punch, including new skins like Palanquin D.Va and Wukong Winston!

As with previous events, Lunar Loot Boxes can be earned or purchased, and each will contain at least one item from our Year of the Rooster collection—including player icons, sprays, victory poses, emotes, highlight intros, skins, and more. While the contents of each seasonal Loot Box are random, you can unlock a variety of these customization options in the Hero Gallery for credits throughout the event’s duration.

Once you've unlocked an item, it will be yours forever, which means you can celebrate the Year of the Rooster all year-round. The collection will return to the vault on February 13, however, so be sure to fire up your favorite gaming machine and see what good fortune might await before it’s too late!

Capture the Rooster

No event would be complete without a first-class brawl, and for the Year of the Rooster we took a cue from tradition and are introducing an Overwatch take on a true competitive gaming staple: Capture the Flag.

In Capture the Rooster, teams will face off on Lijiang Tower, attempting to secure the enemy flag while the opposing team does the same. In this fast-paced brawl, players will need to get creative with their team compositions as they attempt to construct a lineup that’s built for offensive speed and defensive stability.

Let the Celebration Begin

We’ll also be ringing in the Lunar New Year over on our social media channels, so be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for some extra luck—and don't forget to keep an eye on playoverwatch.com to stay up to date with the latest game news!

Overwatch’s Year of the Rooster is live RIGHT NOW on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We wish you every success this season and can’t wait to see you in-game!

HERO BALANCE UPDATES

Ana
Biotic Grenade
Effect duration has been reduced from 5 seconds to 4 seconds
Healing boost on allies has been decreased by 50%

Developer Comments: The healing boost from Ana’s Biotic Grenade was providing too much healing, especially when used on targets with large health pools.

D.Va
Health increased from 200 to 400
Armor decreased from 400 to 200
Fusion Cannons
Bullet damage decreased from 3 to 2
Number of bullets per shot has been increased from 8 to 11

Developer Comments: D.Va’s armor often made her feel like she had no weaknesses, even against heroes that are typically effective against bigger targets (like Reaper). The changes to her primary fire will result in a small overall decrease in damage, but her Fusion Cannons should feel more consistent now.

Lúcio
New Hero Option: Allow Backwards Wall Ride
When enabled, allows Lucio to start wall riding while moving backwards.

Roadhog
Chain Hook
Targets are now pulled directly in front of Roadhog (rather than straight to him), except in cases where Roadhog drastically rotates
Hooked targets are now released if they leave Roadhog’s line of sight before being pulled
Line of sight checks (which determines if targets are hit by the hook) are now done from Roadhog’s position, rather than the hook’s position

Developer Comments: The hook should now feel more consistent for Roadhog players, but it should also feel more reasonable to his enemies, as they cannot be hooked or pulled around corners anymore.

Sombra
Hack
Cooldown has been reduced from 12 seconds to 8 seconds
Time it takes to hack a target has been decreased from 1 second to 0.8 seconds

Developer Comments: Sombra often had difficulty hacking enemies, even when she surprised the target. This change should help her execute hacks more easily.
