Chick-fil-a manager tired of slang

Are you dense? When you hired at a company they have right to ban slang; you are working for a professional company. Yes Chickfila is a professional business; regardless if it is fast food, it's still a professional company.

You still don't understand the link you provided is discrimination against immigrants and their language which has nothing to do with slang.

Are you an idiot? Call me dense all you want, you still have yet to provide any proof of your claims. Its funny that when asked to back up your claims, you resort to insult.

Only private companies typically stiffle freedom of speech, so the reality of the situation is really more of a legal grey area. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=123024596 Someone who is employed by a public entity need not worry.

And as you can read in the article, it actually is illegal for private companies to ignore your freedom of speech if having a conversation, much in the same way its illegal for Taco Bell to call what they serve "beef." They just pay the fines, if they are ever fined, and call it a day.

As long as they are using slang amongst themselves and not with customers, an employer cannot ban slang. Just because it happens does NOT make it legal. Now post sources for your claims or sit down, lest you be considered dense.

you can keep posting and talking out your backside; you aren't posting anything that relates to slang. Believe me you can Google all you want but I know a little more than you think in regards to this kind of stuff.

Freedom of speech does not equal banning slang or cursing so keep trying.

I did post what I know oh wise one; all you are doing is posting links that doesn't pertain slang

slang much like cursing is NOT freedom of speech; if you don't believe me then take a couple HR graduate classes

Both links talk about workers rights when it comes to language in the workplace.

Why don't you post some reading material from some of these graduate HR classes? Particularly the parts where employers can discriminate against employees based on slang, if possible.

All they have to say is that you arent working out for the company and bam YOU are FIRED. Slang is not protected under discrimination. I would love to see that go to court

Especially if you are in an at will state which is most states

You know what grinds my gears? Misuse of "professional". Just because you're getting paid doesn't make you a professional.

Chick-Fil-A is super corny. Was my first job at 14 and I almost got fired on numerous occassions and got put on "probation" for "not smiling enough" :rolleyes

I appreciated the opportunity as a first job though

There used to be this girl that worked at the Chic fil a in Memorial City Mall in Houston. Pretty blonde girl, used to always have the biggest smile and would be so nice and cheerful

If you looked in to her eyes doe....polar opposite. **** was creepy.

When she handed you your food, you could she was deciding how she would kill you.

Of course this list is fake. How can you ban regular non profane words at a workplace like chick fil-a? How is fool slang? And then look at yall arguing over this.
