I weigh probably 211. I could stand to probably lose 20 pounds but I don't run enough or do cardio for longer than 30 minutes.

Maybe you can do interval, HiiT, etc.
You could lose 20lbs doing 10 minutes of cardio if you wanted. Hell you can lose weight without doing ANY cardio.

Diet, diet, diet. Thats 90% of the game.

I'm in for #ntrunning. I'm 6'5 and 190lbs. At my heaviest I was at 247. Started running in frees and ran them into the ground. Tried Saucony next but never really liked them. Now running in gel kayano 2.0s because I'm flat footed and severely over pronate. Always best to go to the running store for your shoes. Nike has the best gear tho.

Another runner checking in, I'm more so a distance runner than speed (9-10 minute miles

). As far as winter running gear, I stocked up during the Spring (good time to buy) in Nike compression pants from City Sports (50% off). I've been probably too loyal to Nike for running shoes over the years and I'm looking for a pair with good arch support, any suggestions?

I also recently bought this Garmin watch and love it, I've been looking for a fitness band with a watch that's not too clunky, it also has Bluetooth connectivity so I receive text and e-mail messages on it; definite plus during winter runs when you don't want to stop to see if you have any messages.

I have really flat feet (have to wear the most correcting dr scholls inserts) and asics do me well. But the people at the running store should be able to help you out

Asics Kayano.

I'm 6'1 and weigh 185 pounds right now.

My heaviest was 207 :x when I came back from my vacation from the Philippines.

I still am trying to get down to 175 pounds though.

I started running in Nike Free's and Asics. But just can't recommend any of those brands anymore for running long distances or doing a 5k, 10k, or Half.

Nike's yeah I'll still use them when I hit the gym to do cardio and when I lift.

2015 though is going to be a busy year with the running half's for me. I'm already registered for 6 of them next year.

January: Carlsbad Half (North County SD)
February: Surf City Half (Huntington Beach CA)
March: Rock N Roll Half (San Francisco)
April: La Jolla Half (Dope rich beach area of SD)
May: Orange County Half
May: Rock N Roll Half (San Diego)

Ahh living in SoCal the beautiful year round weather, dope road race courses. All within in driving distance from me and when I fly up to SF for RnR SF in March my round trip airfare was under $200 and I gotta a homie who lives in South SF who I'll be staying with while up there and not have to worry about checking into a hotel.

IMO, the Lunaracer 3 is Nike's best running shoe. It can be used for tempo runs and even endure a 26.2 with no problem. It provides the perfect balance between lightweight and comfort. Plus, you can find them for well below retail.

Is there only one model, the +? I don't really care about being able to track my performance.

They are pretty cheap. I'll give them a try but I'll have to get some orthotics.

Yes, there's only one. That Nike+ receiver carrier is obsolete anyways since the majority of people use the phone app now...

You should try the Nike Lunar Racer. I ran the Chicago Marathon and Air Force Marathon wearing the Lunar Racer……Brand New out of the box (I wouldn't recommend wearing new shoes).

I love everything about the Lunar Racer. Overall : Amazing running sneaker.

I bought the Nike Air Zoom Vomero+ 8 Shield shoe for this winter running.  The shoe got good reviews but I will see when I get some miles into them during this winter.

Might abandon the iPod for the phone now. Nike+ never syncs properly on iTunes.
I have never ran into that problem.
Pretty much

This is why I prefer trail running over being on a track. I remember running 5 miles on a track one time, and 4 on a treadmill and it was the worst **** ever
I refuse to run on a treadmill. Its so much better being outside getting fresh air than being in some stuffy gym.

^^ Man not to mention running on a treadmill is hella repetitive. You're legit running in place. No better feel than getting to see the sights of wherever you're running. I love running in cities. The character and liveliness of the cities shines through as you run. A few weeks ago I ran through Philly when I was on a work trip, ran past the liberty bell and thought it was the dopest thing. I try to travel light but I gotta take my gear now if I'm gone for more than 2 days.

I don't mind running on a treadmill, I just have my ipad and catch up on some shows or watch a bunch of youtube vids. Sometimes I don't even notice the time and I look at the timer and I've been running for an hour+.

I liked to run on a treadmill when i first started out, mainly because it set the pace i wanted to run at for me.  Now that ive gotten more comfortable running, i prefer to run at one of the parks around my house.  I only mess with the treadmill when im lifting weights, or it is unbearably cold out or raining.
