NFL Week 11 In Review...

I have a towel waiting for you. Send me the address
 I can't jump ship. I'd fit right in with the masses of Steelers fans in the DMV though. Have been rooting for the Steelers more often this year cause I've got Le'veon and Antonio Brown on the fantasy squad :smokin

Dude, stop catching feelings because everyone is talking trash about your s**t division that your team isnt even at the top of.

There were NOT people complaining that the Cardinals made the playoffs that year.  Why would they have been complaining?  Because another 9-7 team didnt make it that year?  Its not as if there werew 10-6 or 11-5 teams out there missing the playoffs.  IF a team from the south finishes 8-8 to win the division (and lets be honest.  8-8 looks extremely generous at this point), there will be multiple 10+ win teams that dont make the playoffs.  Entirely different scenario than what you claim happened in 2008.

But hey, hold on to your memories!

tell the truth, you really think i give a **** about the other 3 teams in the South divison?

-good to have a bye week for dallas & have the rest of the division not pick up any wins yesterday :nerd:
- very impressive game from jonas gray
-jj watt is a monster
-cardinals still on a roll, even without palmer
-wow at that broncos game
- at RG III's post game interview
-the whole situation with the ball during the bengals game

Salty San fran fan mad at the NFC south [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]
WTF?  You guys are so quick to call someone salty or mad.  Where have I written anything showing myself being salty?

All I did was try to explain to someone that having a team win the division at 9-7 when there wasnt a single other team that year that missed the playoffs with a better record is NOT the same thing as a team being in first place in a division at 4-6.

Thats it.  Nothing more.

Thats what you took out of my post?  LOL.  I guess that's what happens when you either dont have anything to say or you cant comprehend what you read.

Just a lot of irony that the complaint is coming from a fan of the NFC west. The way it looks is that San fran or seattle will be on the outside looking in. That's all

My current MVP ballot:
1. J.J. Watt
2. Ben Roethlisberger
3. Aaron Rodgers
4. DeMarco Murray
5. Peyton Manning

Honorable mention: Tom Brady

How is Gronk not an mvp candidate, ever since he started playing regular snaps that pats offense has taken off.

Aaron Rodgers is the MVP right now anyway.

It's a two man race between AR and Brady for MVP at this point. Murray is in the discussion too. Don't see an MVP coming from a losing team (Watt), and Ben has been too inconsistent.

Can't see how the MVP can be given to anyone else besides Rodgers or Brady. Their teams are absolutely DOMINANT right now and they are both putting up unbelievable numbers. Especially Rodgers man that dude is on a different level.

66.8%, 2748 yards, 28 TD's and only 3 INTS, 8.8 YPA :x

Than when you watch him play he's even more impressive than his numbers show. Some of those deep throws he makes look so easy but no other QB can make them.

Why'd I have to be born a ******** fan?

This franchise is officially a huge steaming pile of ****.
For a billionaire, Daniel Snyder lacks purpose and direction.
First step...fire Bruce Allen and get someone in at GM who actually knows the game.
Changing the name should be the first step

The 2012 Minnesota Vikings were 6-6 heading into the final quarter of the season, in which they did this.

12/09/12 - W, 21-14 vs. Bears (Peterson, 154 yards)
12/16/12 - W, 36-22 at St. Louis (Peterson, 212 yards)
12/23/12 - W, 23-6 at Houston (Peterson, 86 yards. Vikings win on road in spite of HOU trying to lock up a playoff bye)
12/30/12 - W, 37-34 vs. Green Bay (Peterson, 199 yards)

They finished 10-6 -- one of the worst teams to ever make the playoffs, by my estimation ('10 Seahawks, '07 Diplomats, '08 Fins) -- and Peterson still was given MVP for just getting there. Ponder started in the regular season and Webb started the playoff game  Hideous.

So, the Vikings were 6-6 then, and the Houston Texans are 5-5 right now.

The Texans remaining six games:

Sun, Nov. 23 - vs. Cincinnati (1p ET)
Sun, Nov. 30 - vs. Tennessee (1p ET)
Sun, Dec. 7 - @ Jacksonville (1p ET)
Sun, Dec. 14 - @ Indianapolis (1p ET)

Let's just evaluate that for a second.

Bengals look downright terrible at home against the Browns in Week 10, and then get an uplifting win against the Saints. The way this Cincinnati team is, you'd rather play them when they're coming off of a good win rather than a bad loss. It's just that way with them this year. It's at Reliant Stadium as well.

Then, their next two are versus two rookie quarterbacks. Week 13 vs. Zach Mettenburger and Week 14 @ Blake Bortles.

Then they'll face Indianapolis at Lucas Oil.

I think they can beat Cincy, and if so, ride that confidence wave over Mettenburger and Bortles without much of a push back. Then we'll give them a loss at Indy.

That's 8-6 going into their last two games: Week 16 vs. Baltimore and Week 17 vs. Jacksonville (again).

Ravens will be fighting for a playoff spot, but it's at Houston. Both teams will be battling in this game because there will likely be AFC Wild Card tiebreaker implications tied into it.

I think the Ravens would win, but let's not rule out a Houston win if they've won four out of their past 5 games and they can see the playoffs in sight with a raucous home crowd at their back.

If they do win, then the only thing that stands between them, the playoffs, a 10-6 record, and a NFL MVP for J.J. Watt...

... is the Jacksonville Jaguars.

I'm just saying, let's see how this plays out. A lot of it hinges on them being able to beat Cincy this weekend. If they do, it's on

I'm just saying if all of that plays out, he will win it.

The Texans are in the exact same situation as the Vikings were, and I think you're downplaying the incredible assistance the national coverage at the end of the season can do to help his chances.

Peterson was given a boost by "Can he break it?"

Watt has left records in his wayside as he recreates the position. He's already broken, not "will he."

If all of that plays out, the national publicity surrounding the Texans being red-hot, Watt making people dig back to the 50s and 40s archives, etc. It'll be enough.

His impact, particularly blocking, are unquestionable. Is "Gronk" even having the best season at his position? Some may argue "Orange Julius."

Texans are 5-5, alive and well in the playoff hunt. Even an outside shot at the division. Texans' biggest game of the season is December 14th at Indy, will ultimately decide the AFC South. Houston gets the Jags twice, don't forget. Bengals, Titans, Ravens. Could be a 9-win team by season's end.

Ben's got 23 TD to 5 INT on the season. He's protecting the football, and no one is better in the league at keeping plays alive under duress. Romo a close second in that category. But the Steelers no longer rely on a dominant defense. The Tampa loss was unlucky and the Jets defeat was inexplicable. Stronger case had Pittsburgh been 8-2 at this point.

If the texans were 8-2/9-1 maybe even 7-3 and the defense was playing lights out.

then I could see it.

But Watt isn't winning the MVP. No shot.

Rod is MVP for me.
Of course Rodgers or Peyton will win it. QB is the most publicly watched and probably prioritized position on the field. I truly believe Watt is more deserving. His impact on one side of the ball is equal to that of these premium signal-callers.

@JPZx  - I see your point, but AP is a RB and he was 8 yards shy of breaking an all-time record that has stood for awhile. The ONLY reason Vikes even made the playoffs was because he was playing out of his mind. Not much competition for MVP that year either. Houston is the 30th ranked defense, currently. If he has such a big impact, shouldn't Texans defense be ranked higher? Don't see him doing enough to award him the MVP over Tom and AR. Just a lot of obstacles to overcome to even be considered for MVP.

It's important to consider the tiebreakers in being able to flesh out how real of a scenario we might have here:

Wild Card Tiebreakers between teams not in the same division:

1. Head-to-head (if no H2H...)
2. Best won-loss percentage in games played within the conference
3. Best won-loss percentage in common games

Not only do the Texans now own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Browns due to beating them yesterday...

They are 4-2 vs. AFC teams.

The Browns are 4-4.
The Ravens are 3-4.
The Steelers are 5-2.
The Dolphins are 4-3 (but they play at Denver next weekend)

The Texans want the Steelers to win the AFC North because assuming the Dolphins lose at Denver next Sunday, they will have a .666 winning percentage vs AFC foes and nobody else will be above .500.

They're ALIVE. ****'s about to get LIVE.

Maybe
