Routine Trip Turns Fatal as a Man Is Pushed in Front of a Subway Train

Man that is why you can't carry anything in your hands. Be careful when you see youngins posted up near your back when you are near the platform. Always keep that head on a swivel.

But sad story man. RIP to your folks OP

This is why I'm always aware of who's around me when I'm near the edge of the platform. I hope they catch the sick son of a ***** who did this.

This. I've been trying to make a conscious effort to stand farther from the ledge. Mental health issues are real in NYC and I'm not willing to chance some craziness like this. We need to invest in platform barriers like they use for the JFK shuttle train. Keep garbage and people off the tracks.

This is such a tragedy..Can't believe that someone would do some **** like this...Hope the catch the piece of **** who did this..Prayers go out to his family...

maybe i am emotional right now
but i can't help it but to think that this **** is racially motivated.
some of the more recent track pushing victims were asians.

RIP to the dude. I hope this scumbag is given 25-life.  No one deserves to be treated like that.

Now everybody gonna be OD uncomfortable on the subway...n_s gonna be standing in front of the columns or sitting or against the trash or by a wall if need be.

Making the subway all uncomfortable n ish.

Is this an issue on the DC metro? Never here these stories down here

Regardless I always stand in the middle (or back to the wall depending on the station), just good sense to stay back away from the track, no reason to be up close

Condolences to the departed and family

They def got the guy but most people would not even try to approach the suspect after they seen him do that to a person **** no joke ny cats know to look around when the trains coming

cold world man |I

reading the article...

50 deaths from trains this year in NY???

Won't even go near the edge of the platform anymore...

R.I.P

Maybe its time they start putting up platform screen doors like they do overseas. I could only imagine the costs though, plus the train stops differently along the platform.

Ain't nobody tackling nobody man. It's easy to say what could have been done, but if I saw a random man murder another random man in cold blood and just run off I'm not sure if I'm just gonna go running after him unless it was someone I knew.

I don't have any idea how dangerous this guy is or what sort of weaponry he's packing

so did everyone else on the platform just run/stand there when it happened?

there were witnesses right?

so dude just literally walked past ppl after doing that, as if he was no longer a threat to anyone else in his immediate vicinity?
