HBO: "Westworld"...Cancelled After 4 Seasons

Not sure if this belongs in a spoiler, but:

We know that robots can't harm humans (yet). But what's stopping humans from harming other humans?

I have to go back and Re-watch the episode..I didnt catch the man in black say..He been coming there for years..I really thought he was a host looking for a way out.

So did I read the last scene wrong? I took it as Dolores being more aware than she has been putting on..Host aren't allow to kill living things and fly are living things.

Especially since the guy mentions she one of the oldest host in the park..I'm sure she's been through a lot..even more evident of this is them showing she now has a new father.

she also lied about what her dad told her. her dad was whispering in her ear much longer than the statement she gave the tech. also wonder what the tech told her father before putting him in that storage area with all the other bots.

^

Also wonder what The Man in Black actually did with her when he dragged her into the barn in the early scene. It originally gives off the vibe that she was going to be raped, but now that we know what he's about, what did he actually do/say to her?

well we know about them gaining memories form the new programing or remembering aspects of things to trigger mannerisms.. with that scene with the girl touching her lips

could just be once they start opening things up, other things start to trigger.. and like was said, Dolores is the oldest one in there

The fly was a major key in the development of the hosts ability to take life. The show began with a fly on Deloros and here just staring ignoring it. The first dude that bugged out did so when the fly landed on him. The show ended with Deloros killing the fly. Essentially taking life which they are programmed not to do.

See, I wondering this myself... How would guests know who are other guests and who are not?

James Mardsen is pretty much Sean Bean lite.

Dude stay collecting Ls everywhere.

You read my mind.

Show was pretty good. Setting up the groundwork for the rest of the series. Gotta check it again when I get home from work. I'm sure there are things I missed.

WOW

First episode was one of the most incredible pilots I've ever seen.

The cinematography and writing are at a very high level.

Shouts to Nolan for letting it be known his brother isn't the only genius in the family, he's always been in the cut.

Cannot wait for next week.

This totally did not not disappoint after the years of development.

I think that's what the scrawny guy that creates he storylines and the woman smoking the cig are trying to get at. Bernie and Ford are making things too realistic [emoji]128517[/emoji]

So the Westworld "park" is that little town and HQ (where they make all the bots and supervise the park) is off in the distance, correct?

Also, we know the hosts aren't supposed to be able to hurt the guests, but is anything stopping a guest from hurting another guest? Did that get addressed and I missed it?

i think this will be major plot in the show
I actually just read an article where the show's creators said that the weapons can "sense" who is firing them and who they're being fired at. (2nd paragraph)

I believe so.

The people at HQ seem to be disturbed any time any little thing goes wrong at Westworld. How are they not paying attention to any of the wild **** the Man in Black is doing?

I mean honestly, I think Westworld would be boring. Like besides sleeping with robot hookers what's so special. Killing a robot? Eh not worth that kinda money

Yea that doesn't make any sense. How do they lose track of a human and a robot.

I mean I'm guessing that would still be murder. Also the robots stick to the script and it's kinda easy to tell them apart from humans

I thought this too, but the park has been open for 30 years. Is what he's doing actually wild? I'm sure some crazy stuff has went down in the 30 years since the park was opened. So the people at HQ might just see him as another guy who likes to rape and kill robots when they come to Westworld.

I was just watching a clip of that scene at the end where Dolores' dad is talking to Ford and the actor killed it as a robot. Legitimately creepy. Hopkins also is great in this. Can't wait to see what his motivations are.

Gotta watch it again tonight. This **** got me feeling like Lost is back on :nerd:

While his employees recognize how dangerous it is, Ford seems to take pleasure in the fact that his "creations" are becoming intelligent. He has major God complex

yup.. the rest of the employees are content with good enough and thinking about the risk that comes with more complex.. at least the Theresa especially is (and dude with the kid's line)

but ford and lowe are too invested to think about the long term ramifications.. both seem just consumed with doing/improving
