Quentin Tarantinos Movie Thread - Prepping for his Final FIlm - “THE MOVIE CRITIC”

I'm a huge Tarantino fan and after watching this, I feel like it'll land towards the bottom of the list for me.

Is it just me or did Tim Roth try to play a role that was clearly written for Christoph Waltz?

The whole time, I was thinking the EXACT same thing. He sure was doing his best Waltz impression though.

But according to some reports, Waltz was suppose to be the Hangman (K. Russell's character).

Shane/Boyd Crowder kills EVERY role he's in.

It's cool that Tarantino uses the same actors in a lot of his movies but do we really need another Waltz role? That's been beaten into the ground.

The last two he did with Tarantino, he won oscars.

Without Tarantino, you get Spectre.

Waltz needs Tarantino more than Tarantino needs Waltz.

i heard he's horrible in Spectre....well I heard the movie is just horrible overall.

Waltz in this would've been overkill, save him for another role. He's already done the whole Western gun slinger thing.

Tarantino needs to bring back Uma Thurman, I want a new kill bill but ill settle for anything at this point.
But he's only done the western gun slinger once.

Also, there's already talks about Kill Bill 3 out there.

He JUST did the gun slinger tho, let that Django role settle in first that's all I'm saying. I would feel like Im watching Django all over again. I was a little worried when I heard he was making another western but the reviews of this are good so far.
That was three years ago though. Plus Goggins also was that same redneck racist in Jango as well.
Plus 8 takes place in the same universe as Jango and Bastards, so theres really no harm. Zoe Bell is in both also, minor roles though.

I understand he needs may need to have a different character, but he's never as good as he is with Tarantino.

Maybe Waltz and QT had a falling out? I read about why he wasn't in Hateful 8 and it sounds like BS. The other movies I've seen Waltz in (Horrible Bosses 2, Carnage, Green Hornet), he was very forgettable. I think he should accept roles from from QT moving forward.

Glad to hear that this movie is getting mixed reviews and is upsetting those who were hoping for another violence exploitation Tarantino. Sounds like he finally made a more mature, dialogue based movie that I've been waiting for since Jackie Brown. Can't wait to see it in glorious 70mm.

Jackie brown wasn't a good movie though lol. I watched it again recently. Still bad. Hope this is better.

Oh it's definitely got it's violence and I'll even go a step further and say it's got some elements of violence* we're not used to seeing in Tarantino films. The dialogue in this film definitely features that classic Tarantino style of eloquently talking one's way into and out of tight situations which is always much appreciated.

*for the sake of discussing the violence:

The clean punches to Daisy's face might strike a nerve with some people. It's one thing to show fantasy type violence (Lucy Liu's scalp in KB) but I feel like a women getting punched cleanly in the face on screen feels too real. You can definitely chalk it up to "times were different back then", but I think this violence will ruffle some jimmies

I hear QT doesnt disappoint with his N word fetish in this smh lol

I love it when people get all bent out of shape over this. Language in the wild west wasn't exactly the Queen's English. It'd feel inauthentic if there weren't a bunch of n-bombs lol.

Cause u grew up in the Wild West and knew exactly how they spoke huh :rolleyes
While I do hate how he loves to include that word throughout all his movies
I'm still gonna watch it

Since went has something being inauthentic been a problem for Hollywood?

Historical accuracy be damned when they cast the palest cats on the planet in an effort to white wash Egypt, but gotta get an authentic 274 ******* in there or the movie will fall flat right........

One of my favorite QT movies. It's different than the recent ones for sure.

Who's bent out of Shape? QT could make a movie about Polar Bears in Antartica and find a way to flood the N Word in there lol.

I hear a lot of people saying this is one of the worst QT flicks, I`m still going to see it since I got my tickets to the 70mm showing, and I would assume that will amplify the experience opposed to those watching it on bootleg.

And a wise man told me
"Don't date the days, cause a date don't change the days"
And flippin pages don't change the page
All that does is change the page

Is sam jackson the only black person in this movie? I rarely go to the movies anymore but I'll try to make an effort to watch this.
