Quentin Tarantinos Movie Thread - “THE MOVIE CRITIC” no longer his final film

I really liked when Bob and I think the sheriff? Where putting up those posts. With that crazy music. Made it seem someone was about to get washed.

The beginning music was also really creepy and awesome.

I liked Bob as well. Dude was funny.

If I was O.B. I would've punched ruth in the face for making me go to the outhouse in that damn weather.

entire movie had that vibe

every time someone was talking in the movie I expected someone off screen to blast em

I enjoyed both, but what I really like about Hateful 8 that IG is (somewhat), lacking in is the amount of time we get to spend with the characters. IG has so many characters and so many moving parts, but it makes up for it in story and action. Hateful 8 is dialogue driven with tidbits of action but we spend a lot of time with the characters.

For what it's worth though, I think Hans Landa is top 3 Tarantino characters. Maybe top 2

just watched this online tonight. another great film from QT.

my only complaint was that there was a little bit of filler, but not too much. it probably could've ran about 15-20mins shorter and it would've been even better.

If it had ran on for another 30 or 40 then yeah, but 15-20 minutes isn't much.

I saw it the day after it came out for $6.00 at 10am... thank god I skipped breakfast that day.

watched this last night. loved it.

the dialogue was fantastic. the acting was great. and the story and way it was told was superb.

A+ QT.

1st movie since Reservoir Dogs to not have a foot fetish scene I believe?

Pulp Fiction - foot massage dialogue between Vincent and Jewels
Jackie Brown - Bridget Fonda's character putting her foot on DeNiro's cup
Kill Bill - "wiggle your big toe"
Inglorious Basterds - Hans Landa asking Von Hamersmark to place his foot on his lap so that he can give her back the shoe
Django - none
Hateful 8 - none

DeathProof:

not just dialogue but actual shots of feet as well
pulp fiction- mia wallace tracking shot of her walking barefoot to meet jules for the first time/dances barefoot for the contest
inglorious basterds- when hans is choking von out, the shot has her foot front and center
Django- when they pull kerry washington straight out of that hotbox, theres a shot of her feet/ and when Django comes to rescue her near the end, theres a pan up shot of kerry lying down that starts at her feet

death proof
QT had no damns to give, I think rosario is quoted saying that on set in between takes quentin was just filming everyones feet.
he's also the Director of Photography in that one

Best I could think of was the closeup of the boots getting out of the carriage.. along with Daisy getting her toe blow off/foot shot.

i loved the scenes whenever someone came to the door and everyone is yelling "kick it open" and then having to nail it shut again

Reaching for foot scenes in Django.

All directors make use of panning up from the feet in w/e position of the character
