Quentin Tarantino's- HATEFUL EIGHT - XMas Day - Special 70mm Roadshow - Page 4

A bunch of bad people trapped in a building. Kind of a Reservoir Dogs vibe to it. I'm sure it'll be awesome.

Didn't know Jennifer Jason Leigh's character was the criminal that was caught. Definitely a movie i'll be watching opening week.

I'm talking about 1 movie though :lol

Pulp Fiction came out 20 years ago, and he was ROBBED.

I'm always looking forward to a new Tarantino movie. Is it just me or did his characters stop talking about music?

Reservoir Dogs - Madonna
Pulp Fiction - Jack Rabbit Slim's (they mention a lot of different music artists)
Jackie Brown - Delfonics
Kill Bill - (I don't recall any dialogue but the entire soundtrack was so iconic)
Death Proof - Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich
Inglorious -
Django -
H8ful 8 -

Maybe it has something to do with the time period in which the story takes place? Either way I'm ready for H8ful 8

I want Tarantino to do a Bond film SO ******* BAD!!!!

Like set in the 60's and everything, just super violent with all sorts of camp and humor mixed in with sexy sex and 60's Swinging London type vibe.

I keep seeing on the news about police officers going to protest this movie over his comments. I've never seen cops as a group so vocal about something but they won't badmouth their fellow cops who make all of them look bad.
I hope his next film is set in modern times. This is his 3rd period piece in a row. I'd like to see him develop modern characters again.

Still a first day watch for me (unless I see Revenant first) but this one doesn't have me as excited as previous QT releases.

Watching The Ridiculous 6, why do they keep letting this dude Sandler make movies? :lol

The cast in this is no joke too, why would anyone sign up for this?

Wanted to post a 30 min interview Christopher Nolan did with QT about The Hateful Eight, but it looks like it was removed from Youtube because it's gone from my view history and I can't find it again when I search for it. Anyway, in it he talked about how it was heavily inspired by The Thing and how the characters can't trust each other. He screened The Thing for the cast, with Kurt Russell being proud of his work.

He also talked about how it was inspired by the 60s western TV shows like Bonanza. Specifically, he was inspired by the cameos different actors such as William Shatner had on those shows. When they had a cameo appearance on the show, the audience wasn't told whether this was a good guy or a bad guy. So he thought "What if there were 8 such characters where no one knows who is the good guy or the bad guy" as a concept for this movie. Sounds interesting.

Hahaha I like how he said he feels that mace windu should be in SW but here we are

The Hateful Eight, which is hitting theaters on Christmas Day, will be released with two versions. One was shot on 70 mm film format, has an overture and an intermission, and is displayed exactly how Quentin Tarantino originally intended for its 3 hour 2 minute running time. The other is the standard digital version, which is six minutes shorter and has some alternate takes of scenes – Find out where you can catch the exclusive version here!

Yeah. I'm watching it on 70mm for sure. There's a few over here smokin.gif

I gotta admit, I didn't care to rush to see it based off the plot and early mixed reviews, but the chance to catch it in 70mm is selling me.

Are there mixed reviews?

It's 93% at RT with 14 total reviews so far and one rotten.

Maybe early early on. And a friend of mine saw an advanced screening a few weeks back and didn't take too much of a liking to it; not that he is a sole source for reviews laugh.gif but you get my point.
