It's not that different from JT if you think about it.

Dude was in a pop group. Maybe always was more of a fan of R+B.

And maybe found his groove when he went solo.

Not saying that's the case, but possible.

jt is from memphis and nick grew up around a choir in texas I believe . theyre (relatively) soulful guys . Them being in a boy band is the work of executives trying to sell a pretty face to teenage girls.

With the right production and machine behind him...it's over.

Not even close to Miguel but he can potentially do waaaaaay better in regards to hits/sales and numbers wise....and we all know why lol.
 
He seems very stiff and awkward in that Gospel version. Like he's concentrating on clapping on beat. He needs to be much more polished to really crossover.
