I only know Fela Kuti, Manu Dibango, and Osibisa.

That's all really good funky stuff.

Thanks for the thread. I have been meaning to dive into some Africa music but I didn't know where to start.

What's your opinion of Afro-Beats?

I made a caribbean music thread and my fellow west indians were ghost.

Always loved afro beats tho.  Grew up hearing it cuz my dad multicultural like that and my Aunt in Switzerland new a lot of Africans (they basically most of the black people in Switzerland).

That azonto ish is hard tho.  I still not even nice at it and its been years since it got popular in the west.

Tchobari - We Love you Madiba

I think the Caribbean thread didn't take off because there was already a reggae/Bob Marley thread & not a lot of people aside from me are postin' in it... BTW, I'm not African but I love music (good music).

Tchobari & Sarissari - E Male

Tumi - In Defence of my Art (ft. Reason & Ziyon)
