Anika, Andre, and Vernon have all got to die. All problems solved. Bunch of disloyal bastards.
Ehh, I'd keep Andre and Vernon alive cuz they saved Lucious from jail. Their position within the company would definitely be demoted, though.

These two posts have my crine. I need a gif of the zoom in when he heard that.

The dynamic between Andre and his wife is weird too. Like not only is he pimping out his wife but she's cool with him smashing yambs as well.

  at the detective quote. In retrospect, that storyline got dropped real quick. When I take a step back and think about it, a lot happens on this show. So much so that I'm not sure writers can keep up with all the storylines. I still rock with it, though :smokin

Idk what Fox thought they were getting themselves into when this got greenlit, but this show is equivalent to that pizza that's so bad that it's good.

Like I want to hate this show so much, but we're looking at a primetime drama with a full minority cast, excellent production from Timb and some fairly large social issues being addressed from a new perspective.

As the season has progressed, I've been fairly happy with plot development. Like the Andre storyline took a while to develop, but I think that it could be a really major portion to the story whenever Lee decides to get rid of Lucious.

Anyways, the memes that have come out of this show have been legendary.

show is so unrealistic, a record label filing for an ipo in 2015? Also sons of label heads are the worst to take over the company.  You have an outsider or Vernon as successor if this was realistic.

Started watching the show...Pretty good so far. Youngest son is annoying, but Terrence Howard and Taraji are doing a great job.

And that's exactly why they gotta die. They know too much and they would definitely go the blackmail route when backed into a corner.

Link to where I can find said memes?

This show is a ratings beast, and is growing weekly. Its a perfect storm. Recognizable credible actors mixed with fresh actors, awesome music from Timbos team, multi perspectives on social issues, a look into the music industry (which is interesting enough), well developed characters and several intriguing storylines, and its progressive (plot moves at a good pace: Lucious admitting ALS and not holding out til season 3, sweet boy coming out, ....etc)

Now Fox gonna own his publishing. That's why Diddy didn't want Quincy doing it because Fox wanted unsigned artist to get that 360
Would they own the rights to all his songs, even the ones not from the show, or just if/when he performs songs from the show?

nahhhh I'll take booboo kitty all day bruh. love her face yo. little cute ***. and she's from the cayman islands too. that bahama box.

Have yall ever heard of this play called "The Lion in Winter"?  i read that Empire is based on this

i'm gonna find it and check it out.
Characters
• Henry II, King of England  (Male, 50) – Though aging, Henry is still very nearly as vital as he ever was. His manipulations of family and others are portrayed as spontaneous and emotional as opposed to the well-thought out stratagems of Eleanor, and the cold, calculating machinations of Geoffrey.
 • Queen Eleanor  (Female, 61) – Eleanor is the wife of Henry and a beautiful woman of great temperament, authority and presence. She has been a queen for nearly 46 years and, while possessing feminine qualities, she is thoroughly capable of holding her own in a man's world. She schemes against Henry and intensely loves him at the same time. She has contempt for her children but is not willing to see them harmed.
 • John  (Male, 16) – He is the youngest son of Henry and Eleanor. He is sulky and sullen, with a boyish outlook on his position; many in the play describe him as a spoiled brat. He is described in the play as pimply and smelling of compost. He is Henry's favourite, but also the weakest. He constantly vacillates throughout the play, not out of cleverness, but out of fear and weakness. He is easily tricked and manipulated by Geoffrey.
 • Geoffrey  (Male, 25) – He is a son of Henry and Eleanor, and a man of energy and action. He is attractive, charming and the "brains" of the family; he is also a cold, amoral schemer. His view of himself is of one who yearned greatly for the love of his parents while receiving none. Yet, the play leaves open to question whether any of Henry's three sons should be thought to have been truly loved by either Henry or Eleanor and not merely used by King and Queen as pawns in their ceaseless scheming against one another.
 • Richard the Lionheart  (Male, 26) – The third, and eldest surviving, son of Henry and Eleanor, their second son, Henry, having recently died. Richard is handsome, graceful and impressive and has been a famous soldier since his middle teens. War is his profession and he is good at it. He is easily the strongest and toughest of the three sons/princes. Richard and Philip Capet  have been sexually involved prior to the action of the play. However, Philip declares that he participated in the affair purely for political purposes, whereas Richard indicates he had genuine affection for Philip.[sup][2][/sup]
 • Alais Capet  (Female, 23) – She is beautiful and in love with Henry. Everyone underestimates her intellect and power. She is initially portrayed as innocent, but by the end of the play has begun to acquire a ruthless streak of her own, insisting that Henry imprison his three sons for the rest of their lives in the dungeon.
 • Philip II, King of France  (Male, 18) – He has been King of France for three years. He is not initially as accomplished as Henry in manipulating people, but seems to acquire greater skills at this during the play. He is impressive and handsome without being pretty.

I was literally just about to come in here and say I just realized Empire is the black hip hop version of The Lion in Winter. I saw the version with Peter O'Toole, Anthony Hopkins, and Katharine Hepburn last month and it is literally this show with a few obvious changes.

Big spoilers if you plan on watching any version of the movie so you're warned again:

The few changes being the youngest son matches Hakeem well (cuz he hates his mom and loves his dad) only I felt in the movie he was the one that was mentally off a bit.

The remaining eldest son who was best suited and extremely ambitious was the one that was secretly gay and in love with the King of France so that is why Henry shunned him. He was not at all jealous of his brothers like Andre is and he wasn't crazy/bi-polar.

The middle son, Geoffrey was never really considered, he allied with his moms and was pretty boring but it was revealed he was the most manipulative, making moves to basically make his older and younger brothers not suited to be king and/or maneuver things in a way so they were found out to be traitors to the king when they all tried to make a deal with the king of France to get rid of their father (so I guess they switched a few character traits for the show between Jamal (Geoffrey) and Andre (Richard) that being homosexual and manipulative).

Also the chick based off Anika's character was just an innocent woman in love with the king and the king was just getting old not dying from some incurable disease. She only gets a real back bone when Henry says he's going to Italy so the Pope can get him a divorce. She then tells him she'll only marry him if he kills his sons cuz she knows after Henry dies the sons will kill any children she has with him since they would be the new heirs.

I liked the movie so much I had to look up how things turned out cuz in the end, he just exiles his sons and wife. What happens later though is Richard eventually comes back with an army, I think backed by the French after his father dies and becomes the new king.

The movie was great. Now that I realized this is based off of it I'm like :smh:  This is a straight butchered and bastardized version.
