Industry is business. For the most part, all it cares about is the business. And right now, she's good business. It's really for the critics and artists to speak up. And some have.

After 2 bricks, she finally had a hit record and has been on a roll since.

Let's be real....talent is not always a factor for success. She's not the first to fit into that category, and she won't be the last.

The "industry" doesn't care about the talent as long as there is success.

The people who work in it for the most part still love music. And we all have our opinions on what's good and what isn't. But we also have jobs.

And that's the case in any industry. Sometimes you're going to be working with a product you don't necessarily believe in or like.

Sometimes you're right, sometimes you're wrong and the **** explodes anyway.

We all love it when Adele, Lorde etc. wind up all over the radio, sell millions.

But it's not always the case.

And ultimately, she was co-signed by a well established and fairly well respected artist. T.I.

Iggy's not for me and I don't think she's supposed to be. I never listened to Da Brat either though.

Music is still trash. Her rap voice is annoying. I remember when i first heard murder music. Hada turn my **** down and look around make sure no one was lookin.

I like how as soon as you criticize 'Ziggy Iggs' in any way a bunch of suckbutt white girl ***kissin' dudes start running out of the woodwork defending her and that wack album.  "Don't you dare criticize my ivory queens!"

These award shows aren't really meant to be taken seriously by hip hop fans; they're trying to co-opt our stuff and giving out awards to boof material is a way to add credibility and generate sales.  Who cares if she won the AMAs, her bosses bought it for her.

I've never heard here album, nor have any desire to hear it, but I can also say the same about a handful of people's favorite hyped artists, especially on here.

As far as the AMA's though, I didn't see it, but when I heard she won, all I could think of was who else was in that nominated category of that demographic....I mean....what other hip hop/rap albums were there that had the massive amount of spins and promotion as hers? Kendrick hasn't dropped in 2 years, J.Cole about the same. Jay, Drake, and EM's albums all came out mid to late 2013, and in this microwave society we live in, this demographic basically don't even remember how those sound. So Iggy basically won cause hers was the most recent album :lol:. Oh well, **** happens, and it's too forgone. I'll with Freddie Gibbs' Piñata, a true rap album of the year.

Stop blaming white people. The gatekeepers of this culture abandoned principle and integrity for money a very long time ago. Consumers accept & praise these hip hop artists shameless self indulgence. You cheer as these dummies recklessly get theirs; regardless of its effect on the culture. Large sums of money comes with large, undiscerning audiences. This is what you all cheer for. Winning. Getting that white people money. Iggy is just a symptom of a larger illness.

Yes this country is dominated by whites but don't sit and act like there's not young white people trying their hardest to emulate black people to look cool. That **** is EVERYWHERE. I don't think Iggy is trying to act black though, I've watched 2 of her interviews and its not like she's tryna hide her Australian accent. I think she's just heavily influenced by down south music so that's what she wants to make. Her music ain't for me but I wouldn't say she's straight up putting on a front.
