I've never had an issue with Punk leaving... He obviously didn't to better himself... I hope in a year or two, after the decompression everyone has after leaving WWE, he finds the passion for wrestling again... He may never main event WM, but he could be the face of a new company or the top guy on NJPW...

Man you know I am all about the actual science of the sport. But the main goal is to entertain. Cena has been the number 1 dude for ten years for a reason. 10 years man. Punk is up there but he is more.of a TMAC to Cenas Kobe.

I like Punk But be real nhere
 
Fair enough. Cena doesn't entertain me though :lol: all his promos are forced and corny. His in ring ability has its moments. I honestly think Cena is overrated.

I mean n he isn't what EYE want as the face of Wrestling but I can't deny that he must be doing something for 10 years to still be relevant. Yea they push him and only him at times but he has to go out there and deliver.
 
I give him credit for being loyal to the business and consistently doing his job. I just find him to be a goofball. 10 years at the top sure, but have they even tried to elevate anyone else to that level during that span? The answer is no for the most part. I'm more curious as to how he appeals to people/children. Is it the fact that he never loses, never gives up, wears a bunch of colorful accessories?

I understand keeping Cena at the top. But it's the fact that they 're not building anyone else up to challenge him. 
 
That line about they have no plans for anyone moving forward other than Cena :smh: why is it hard for them to build up stars?
 
If it means anything my 7 year old cousins favorite wrestler is Kane and John Cena cause they don't where "girls clothes" and under wear.

But you can't discredit HIM for that. Yes, they only care about him and don't know about their future plans, like Punk said, but we can't take anything from him for always being there, doing the job, with a smile, main eventing, selling tickets, and selling merchandise.

I just don't think it is a real discussion. Not trying to downplay Punk or anyone else but how can someone be the best ever if they never even main evented a WrestleMania? Yes it isn't his fault he hasn't but the fact remain, he hasn't. That is like calling a basketball player the best of an era and he has not been part of a championship team. Nah man.

For the record... IMO, the modern Era began the day VKM showed up on Nitro... That was the day WWE was the lone survivor, and the true beginning of this Era...

Also consider the modern era 2002 til now, though I consider it exactly right before the 1st Brand Extension. Then you basically splint that up into 2, possibly 3 different eras, just not sure exactly. I feel like 02-07 belongs in one, 08-12, and 13-present
