Last night is where you started to find elements of season 1

That bird mask gives me nightmares

I'll never understand why people always wanna dictate where a show goes when the reason they started watching in the first place is because they were captivated by the creator's vision.

As long as a show stays true to its character which is always evident, I don't see how you can be mad.

1st season finale of True Detective was as true to the character of the whole season, all the elements of self actualization, religion and the relationship/effects of parents and their children.

I know everybody can interpret art differently because we all have such varied experiences/perspectives in life but I feel like especislly if with social media, people get obsessive and controlling instead of just experiencing.
Whoever said they should have just titled this season something else and people wouldnt have the wild expectations for it was right.

Not to say the first two epsidoes have been the greatest things on earth or anything (I still think the dialogue is meh at times). It is worthy of criticism but I think some folks just want it to fail for reasons unknown.

Someone mentioned it in here the bird mask made me instantly think of Reggie Ledoux

I was about to say, Ray know that ain't his son b.

But it's for legal reasons anyway.

Riggins is definitely zesty, and he ain't the judge's son. Dude's son is the tan guy with the line-up rocking a 'sace robe.

That crotch shot was gnarly.

Also...Ray's ex isn't a ginger...and that bearded henchmen was a ginger...who is the Ginger King?
I'm starting to really wonder now

He's not dead in the episode 3 preview the lieutenant says "one of my men getting shot"...not killed :nerd:

IIRC, didn't the first episode show a flash forward of Colin Farrel's character talking about the case?

I think he was just talking to a child custody lawyer that Vince put him on with.

I thought initially it was another case review years after but you might be right since we haven't seen any of other the main characters being interviewed yet :nerd:

yeah IIRC, she mentions if anything from his work in the dept. might come back to bite her basically (after throwing the cash at her to make something work with the custody issue).

When they meet up at the bar later on Vince asked how the meeting went with the lawyer.

oh ok you're probably right.  I gotta admit i've found it hard to keep my attention fully invested in these first 2 episodes
