Bird mask dude pumping pellets into Vaccorro's stomach? No blood (plus Vaccorro wearing a vest)...maybe just trying to send a message?

Episode 2 was bananas.

Good theory I read on Reddit:
Ray and whoever is in the bird mask are working together to trick somebody into thinking Ray was killed. (the song playing on the radio is called "I pity the fool"). Why? We don't know.

Let's start from the beginning: in the bar scene before, Ray isn't drinking, very unusual for him, unless he needs to be quick on his feet and in the right head to do something serious. He's the one who mentions death and suicide to both Frank (who isn't in on this) and the waitress. Arriving at the house, Ray doesn't even acknowledge the obvious parked car of the bird man because he knows it's there. As he goes towards the house and the entire time in the house, Ray's body language and expressions dont suggest apprehensiveness or caution, but instead like he's been there and knows whats going on. One of the weirdest moments is Ray seeing the huge pool of blood and holstering his gun. People may think this is Caspere's blood but remember that this is 3 days later. The blood, real or not, is fake blood for Rays fake death. Ray then immediately goes to the room with the camera and opens the door without any caution, to make sure that the camera and the broadcasting equipment (to an unknown source) is on and tracking him. This is why he leaves the door conveniently open so that the camera can see him, and why he doesn't leave the cameras line of sight. If you watch the relflection of the front door in the camera room door, you can tell that the bird man is already inside and just waiting for Ray's signal: the open door. Then Ray takes out his gun because he knows he's going to need it and just waits. When the bird man comes, Ray clearly heard him before spinning around and NOT shooting him, something he would do if this was real, and especially if he was sober. The lack of blood and guts splattering (especially when being shot where Caspere was shot) means that Ray is wearing a vest and/or the rounds weren't lethal (rubber, salt, beanbags).

No idea where this is going but Im in love with this season now.

Cary Fukunaga's direction last season was so :pimp:. Some of the best cinema to graph I've ever seen on TV. He definitely deserved that Emmy.

That theory is on point JJ,wouldn't be surprised if it ended up true but I'm just wondering...

who are Ray and the Crow working for if not Semyon?

No, I will not read the theories like I did during Season 1.

Dont worry. It's nothing like those ridiculous Stretch Armstrong reaches from last year, this one is actually plausible . No meta stuff

my thing is why would he fake killing himself if no one saw it, pretty sure you can fake your death a lot easier than having some guy in a bird mask walk in and blast you a couple times

but am I now buying into the fact Paul is dealing with more than just PTSD and is possibly gay as well

so is mcadams character into tag teams? she gives the vibe like something happened to her that traumatized her.

I read JJ's Reddt theory and am now rewatching the ending-scene...

what evidence do you guys have to justify claim of zest?

i know he couldn't stand at attention when he had latina flames bent over ready to go but i threw it up to PTSD, hence the speeding on a bike blind.

When he went back to his LA apartment, when he was outside on the balcony..he was checking out the gay couples and that male pros. that hopped out the car for a good while.

and he had the random story about some gay dude hitting on him and wanting to beat dude up

Idk, I thought it was just the PTSD too...but the balcony shot kinda clicked for me

Seems like his character is in the closet and his "dislike" for gay men is really him trying to hide his own attraction to men.

This is such a let down compared to how amazing season 1 was. Dude got shot and I didn't even give a **** I don't like any of these characters. Anyway on positive note the hot ex wife on this show was one the celebs that got her phone hacked and I watched some videos of her doing some stuff with her vagina it was pretty cool.
