Anyone ever been?
How are black folks treated and accepted?
What's the food like?
The yambs?
What's good to do there?

No one ever been to Greece before? I thought y'all were international playas?

A co-worker of mine went with a church group. She said she got a lot of stares.

I always try to explain to Caucasian friends how they don't even know how many small botherances that they never even have to think about that a black person is left to ponder everyday....like wondering hey, "what parts of Europe can I travel to and not be looked at oddly or treated as a second-class citizen."

I was there in 99. If your into Greek mythology and history it's pretty interesting. People there were ok but they will refer to you as a yankee. Not too bad in the red light district either.

I went back in 2012, but that was when their economy was REALLY bad.  To me, it wasn't really a great place to visit, I got alot of stares which I attribute to being black.  Athens was nice for the most part, and looking at the sites.  I was there for about 2 days then went to other countries to visit.  Overall, I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a strong desire to go.

Spent new years there last year.

Athens was a like any major city. pockets of all kinds of people everywhere. I didnt feel me or my people were looked at any kind of way.

I had a great time.

i dunno about that list...

Ive heard German women love us, repeatedly, over decades. The first German native I ever encoutered was black(and fine as all outdoors)

What about Mario Balotelli?
son gets treated terribly, that's why he asked for the transfer to liverpool, liga treated him terrible when he was at inter, it doesnt helop italians dont claim him even though he was born there

Yeah Balotelli was even thinking about playing for Ghana's national team since he was treated so bad.

Sad.

I went this past year,

Greece is a good choice in Europe because it is cheaper that the western european countries because of the economy. you can easily live off 40 euros a day, if you're backpacking.

The food is really cheap, you can survive on 10 euros a day for 3 meals if you're looking to eat at corner shops and not restaurants,.

I recommend definitely going to see the acropolis, in Athens. The Parthenon is something not to be missed. You can spend a half day there if you really wanted to. Souvenirs can be bought cheap, you should haggle the price down, especially if you're buying several items.

Go island hopping, the main touristy one is Santorini. But google Milos, it literally is out of this world. It looks like a moon beach with the white sand formations.

You will encounter people who do speak english in the major touristy areas, but not the rural parts.
