some countires have fough back white privledge.. Look at zimbabwe.. they litterally said if youre white and you own more than 49% of a business we will take it away and make it black owned in response to Europeans coming in bring their own and hiring them and the wealth is being aggressive circulated between them to create a "financial" takeover.

I was having a conversation with a white coworker the other day and it really showed me how ignorant and misinformed some white people are. White privellege came up in conversation and he was said something along the lines of black peoples always complain about white privilege but what about the fact that black people get scholarships for college just because they're black and that he couldn't get a scholarship for being white. I told him that the reason there are scholarships for black people is because blacks are underrepresented in higher education. He then responded by saying "that's their fault". I don't think white people realize that higher education is a tradition in America. When your great grandfather went to college your grandfather more than likely went to college, and your father and so on and so forth. Black people just started being allowed to attend college on a large scale in the past 45-50 years. There are tons of black kids today that are just now becoming first generation college students. Maybe when things are actually equal minorities can have less help.

exactly.. Alot of black families are now having their kids finsh college and the next generation is picking up the tradition i see it in the neighborhood more and it looks good. the biggest thing minus college is that blacks need to BUILD jobs  and companies so that when their kids grow up and they get older they can pass their wealth down  and repeat the cycle over and over again.

I guess that would be correct since genetically Blacks' pineal gland is not as calcified as whites and can sustain temps that whites cannot.

I remember something my Grade 12 High School English Teacher (female) once said in class, the only thing that I remember from that class lol. She said:

"We're all equal, but were not the same." 

I agree with those words. And, equal does not mean to be the same.

nah. bush didnt become president because hes white.... otherwise any white person could be president. he of course has white privilege which hes exercised many times, but its not RESPONSIBLE for his accomplishments
 
so grandfather clauses arent forms of white privilege?

he was essentially "grandfathered" the presidency

However, to point a finger and say that it is the MOST SIGNIFICANT reason as to why minorities fail in America is just pathetic to me. It definitely plays a role in why certain races are held back, or why it is harder for them get ahead. It may be more difficult for a minority to get ahead, but it is FAR from impossible.

I used law school applications for my example, where it is actually beneficial to be a minority.

 To say that it is the single most significant reason as to why a certain percentage are incarcerated, drop out of school, commit crimes, etc. is just not right, man.

100% honest, i too doubted the effect of WP on the count that I trusted the legal system to do their job and as long as I kept my nose clean I could stay out of trouble and won't have to worry about "The Man keeping me down" but then the Eric Gardner grand jury decision came out and I nearly lost all hope in the fact that America isn't looking to ensure that black people only get so far and don't really care about our lives.

WP may not have the frontline effect to be the first to call for school drop outs, crimes and jailings but if you look at the beginning. Look at when we got here we were beaten into a pulp just to understand that we weren't as good, were worthless, and could never amount to anything. It's only been roughly 151 years since we were freed, not too long ago. WP effects those things you outlined as significant because the concept that we cannot amount to anything is embedded into our heads for so long we believed it and it is not something than can just be shaken off. Plus those same families that kept us down then are in control now. You think that when they lost the war to keep slavery they accepted defeat and said that we are even and we should be given an equal chance? Nah, this system was set up by men who did not want non-whites to have what whites had. And they passed that thought process down and I can only imagine with the 'progress' we've made, these families are watching and preparing to make some changes.

To say that WP is most significant factor, to me, makes since because its a seed that was planted long ago and nobody chopping that giant sequoia down

most white people aren't truly aware of white priviledge because they don't experience it like we do...

what we see as white priviledge is just normal life to them. 

I can't blame some whites for denying it... because they lack the education to understand it
 
so if they so ignorant of themselves, how come they always know so much about how to fix/whats going on in the black community?

what kind of education is required to understand that society grants benefits based on skin color?
