is Christopher Nolan overrated?

I would like to know which modern directors you think are better OP.
OP only stated nolan was overrated.

imo nolan is good, but not what he's made out to be by some people

few names off the top of my head that have as much talent, but receive much less attention:

PTA

coenns

fincher

I think he is slightly overrated (or I should probably say, he's not really my cup of tea as I'm not a huge fan of his style).. Loved requiem for a dream, very hard movie to watch (but I repesct it immensely).. But I think he made the same movie with black swan

Yes and no depending on context.

Pretty much. The prestige is one of my favorite movies. Dark Knight is incredible but has some pacing issues but is the best comic movie.

His fans can just be ******* obnoxious.

TDKR is one of those movies where you leave all happy and emotional and then riun it back in your mind and are like what in the **** was that. so many problems with that movie. could have been timeless. Dunno how it wast

Yeah a little bit lately. Inception was shallow, batman begins was boring to me, dark knight is only awesome because of Heath ledger. The script for it wasn't that great. tDkR was garbage.

What was wrong with dark knight rises?

I personally, felt like it became to bloated with unnecessary characters/stars. For example I thought anne hatheway should've been cast as catwoman way back in batman begins and just been in little cameos here and there, leading up to this film. I also didn't like the fact that batman himself is hardly in the film. I'd rather Bane be his own terrorist group rather than being with ras al ghul too. I always felt like the movie had these great scenes(opening sequence, back breaking fight scene) but as a whole it didn't really flow together like it should.

To each their own though
