I'm in a similar situation as you OP, I have over a 100+ kicks and now it's time to downsize. Hard part is picking the ones I want to get rid of . Not trying to derail your post OP but I also am a size 13 hopefully I'll have a list of kicks for sale in the next week or so.

I sold or gave away everything I had that had a symbol or logo on it.

Every Nike, Polo, Jordan, etc., item that had a logo on it I no longer have.

Everything I have now is plain. I have all GAP/H
How did you return worn shoes?

And do it OP, the rat race isn't worth it the way it is nowadays.
Oh and lmk if you have grapes, carmines,or aquas

Footlocker manager is cool, plus I am a good customer. I exchanged the Lebrons for 2 pair of Steph Curry sigs and 50 dollars. Great decision on my part.

Reading the title of this thread had me thinking you were throwing away your pr0n collection or something

Only bought 4 pairs of shoes in 2014 (got them all under retail). I still talk kicks all the time, I enjoy looking at what's new, seeing what people pick up, etc. But i don't need the sneakers anymore. First of all, I have more than enough (around 50, looking to downsize eventually) and I don't get to wear them everyday anyway. I can enjoy a sneaker and have love for a sneaker without buying it. I came to the realization that I need to place more emphasis on creating a life of meaning rather than a life of gathering stuff.

Lmao nahh I could never do that dude, I was just roftl about the no fappin post on here. I mean who has a collection nowadays anyway [emoji]128064[/emoji] redtube.com

Been averaging like 1pair a year ... Have barely 7 pairs of kicks left...found nt obviously cuz loved shoes years back.
.... Used to keep a rotation of 60plus something like 5 years back....cant afford it for the past few years... Its not that I lost interest , I love nikes.....
Just lost $...

I've been saying this all year/trying to do it but I can't bring myself to part ways with some. I'm too connected to some but I haven't accepted that 1: it has consumed a large part of my life, 2: I don't do anything/enjoy the pairs I'm attached to besides whatever bragging rights I feel I gain, 3: I'm not the same person I was when I bought all the pairs I have, & 4: I have new/improved/better priorities to focus on.

I've been trying to change a lot in my life & go toward a more minimalist lifestyle, mentally its been amazing some of the things I accomplished already but I feel like I'm only holding myself back with these shoes I'm still holding. I know I don't have to quit cold turkey but nothing much even excited me these days, it's just my memories of the pairs I hold on to.

This thread is motivating me to make the move & have faith in it

That's great to hear it's motivating you kid, I'm telling you its a good move. The culture of Jordan's is as the prophet Young Jeezy says "f'ed up but you can't blame me".

I think it would be beneficial for you to try and pick out 10-20 pairs of kicks and just get rid of the rest.

Do it OP!

I'm same age as you so can relate as far entering young adult life where it's that awkward gray area where you realize you just don't care to keep up with the current generation of sneakerheads anymore.

I'm actually a late bloomer when it comes to collecting shoes; didn't start copping until I was like 20-21. From 2009-2012, it was just ridiculous how much money I was wasting on shoes; literally copping just about every single release seemingly every weekend or close to it :smh: :x

It's like what others have posted: it was a thin line between really genuinely liking the shoes and then just liking the thrill of the hunt of being able to get a shoe online that everyone else spent hours camping out and missing out on.

Then I just had a realization one day almost 2 years ago where I thought to myself "what the hell do I need all these shoes for? Lot of em I'd only worn like 1-3 times and they stayed buried in my closet wasting space. Then I decided to start selling off a bunch of the shoes that I sorted through and was just like "yeah, I can let go of these" since it dawned on me that I didn't truly like em that much.

Probably slimmed the collection down from 75 pairs to 25-30ish. Even though I still have a hefty collection, it felt liberating getting rid of the shoes I didn't need and recuperating some of that money I wasted on em (some of the DS pairs; I was able to flip for decent dollars but most just flipped for retail + shipping).

The whole bots taking over basically changed it all for good for me. That was basically the final straw for me; decided then and there I wasn't gonna go through hassle of setting up bots on my computer just to buy damn shoes that are overpriced

I'll still cop a pair that I really like now and then but if I have to jump through hoops to get em; it's an easy pass for me.

Everyone's gonna be diff so from me personally; I don't think you necessarily need to sell off your entire collection but go ahead and just sort out ones you know you don't need or care for.

I just gave like 10 pairs away to goodwill. I have some 3s that are beat to death that I just couldn't let go of. I have like 8 pairs of kicks and I'm looking to dwindle it down to 5. Don't even miss them fellas. The less sneakers you have the more you care about them.

Yea I left Jordans alone for the most part a couple years ago it's a joke anymore. I'm a runner & my big problem has become the different running shoes I find comfortable/I like but won't actually run in because they're not all that great for actual running lol. I was dwindling slowly, I was at 150+ & I'm at 94 now so I have actually been making progress, I just kinda hit a wall as I started but wanting to let go of pairs in the next selling wave.

This weekend I plan on listing some stuff though, I think the quicker I sell it all the less agony it'll be because I literally miss none of the pairs I sold & don't notice they're gone since I'm in dress clothes 5 days out the week & have my "go-to pairs" I wear regularly.

This shoe thing anymore is an absolute joke though, I'll always look & be interested but I'm not paying over retail & I'm not using any bots to get a dsmn pair of shoes, if I gotta do all that I'll just be without lol.
More than the shoes though, all the extra stuff we pick up in life I've been moving away from, it's l I won't let myself get out of my own way to make it to the next level though.

I think the work/getting older thing hits a lot of us. I'm in office clothes 5 days a week so no time to wear them. Even on the weekends sneakers have been phased out because they aren't appropriate when stepping to the bar or dinner. I stick to my Atmos AM1s, SBTG Dunks, and DFP XIs when running errands or chillin.

When I have some extra funds I'll probably spring for some Flint XIIIs and Neon 95s. The Wht/Blue XVIIs are at the top of my list but considering how old they are they probably wouldn't last long. Wouldn't be mad if they got retro'd.

They are only shoes. They'll get old. Start to fade, crumble. Put your money towards something else.

It really set in for me when I started wearing my shoes to actually play ball. Some pairs are maybe only 5-6 years old with light wear. They can barely hold up.
OP this.  Also, try find some yambs.
