^That was my stance on the Jordan Joker XX8s. I picked them up for well below retail, but wouldn't have entertained the thought of copping release day. Same is true for Joker AJ1s...got them for free from the outlets last week

^^^^ I haven't bought a pair of j's since pure $ 3s released like 07. Wasn't missing a pair since 04. I jumped ship .I dnt like having twins so I'll pick a pair meaning 1 pair of penny 6 prob at retail.

This might be a dumb question, but when shoes are retroed, i.e Penny's, Pippens, Ewings, etc does the athlete who is obviously long retired get any money since they company is using their name?

Yes. Jordan, Pippen, Penny, Barkley, etc. still get royalties for each shoe they sell. That's why Reebok took Kemp's name off the Kamikazes - so they don't have to pay him.
