Black Friday brawl videos are how rich people shame the poor

Black Friday is not about poor v. rich. Their are tons of middle, upper middle, and even rich people that take part in it. Soccer moms be throwing dem hands for da savings too.

Just look at Victoria Secret on Black Friday, they attract some of the biggest crowds. Those women swarm the store like savages to save $10 on a bra. You got women in line that are wearing expensive clothes, and checking out with Platinum cards doing this too.

So you will find BF shoppers in almost every tax bracket

So lets not get on this start this "poor people are only poor, because of themselves" steez.

The thing is Black Friday shoppers is that the don't value their time very much, that's it. They line up on Thanksgiving cause they have to do that to get the items they want. They line up when they can, whether it be on Thurs night, or Friday morning.

They are not the reasons the stores are open on Thanksgiving. The blame for that lands on the store owners and execs.

Is it me or did more people say they were against Black Friday than how it's been in recent years?  To me it's kind of like Jordans, the hype has gone up so much a lot of people don't even want to go out and line up for them anymore.

EDIT - I looked into it and Black Friday actually plunged 11% from last year, in dollar amounts that's $7,000,000,000 of lost revenue.

there are sheep of all races and classes

i agree. it does the discussion no good to try and put demographics at the forefront of this black friday issue. sure there may be some demographic data that you can quantify when it comes to race/ethnicity and/or socioeconomic status, but its irrelevant.

you will always find rich folk who look down upon middle and lower class folks. that hasn't changed since the beginning of time. and that isn't going to change anytime soon. period.

i say address the problem at the source. that is the greatest challenge, since the source are the retailers. again, i don't mind them offering sales, but the physical stores themselves are the problem specifically because they exploit a social flaw i feel we've developed within our society as we are such a huge capitalist economy with a massive consumer base. we love to buy, and black friday exploits this.

most of the worlds population lives in poverty. so anyone who follows world events has probably seen over time, footage of people...poor, hungry, fight over food handouts, or something along those lines. so it is truly saddening, but most of all unfortunately, not surprising to see americans (and i guess some europeans) get physical over things most people wish they could have...a tv, a blender...

i think retailers need to be banned from opening on thanksgiving day, ESPECIALLY during actual dinner time. and i think they should transition their best deals to online only. OR extend the duration of their sale. don't make it one day, make it last a week. retailers are the only parties in this whole issue that can EASILY solve this otherwise stupid problem...this stain in our society.

im all for deals and all that. thats why i was following deals when they were actually released online (at least a month ago). but think about how much money people drop on one day for ********.

...then i think about how much good all that money could do to feed homeless people in one of the richest countries in the world...idk maybe im dreaming too big as a right this? i saw a friend hand out food on fb the day b4 thanksgiving, with a crew...he wanted to organize something positive in light of ferguson protests.

and then i look at the violence over a vizio :smh:

we could do so much better...we really could.

/rant. off to get some takeout.
