ITunes is the projects of the music biz. They don't even sell the song to you. They lease it to you.
 
superb superb I really don't think you realize how long ago you lost fam. Even with your iTunes statement I don't think you realize that iTunes actually scared the music industry for a sec because it gave alot more indie artist a platform to sell their music (aka distribution).

iTunes is able to basically do what Koch and all those other small semi-indi labels were able to do with just a couple key strokes. iTunes and Apple in general have revolutionized the way we receive (legally) and distribute new materials whether its books, movies, apps or music.

Consider how easy it is to create an app and get it on the App store now and days. Now imagine that with music fam. There is no way they would charge some sort of a flat fee for that they def just want their percent. If u as an artist decide your CD is worth a 100 just give them their cut when they sell it for u.

Straight from the horses mouth. Even though he had a chance to leave I feel for him a bit. He carried that label on his back for years until they got Drake and Nicki. Who knows where they would be if he ain't go on that run from 04-08.

It's not. itunes doesn't pay wholesale anything. You deliver them the music. They sell it. You track it.

They take their share and account back to you.

Streaming services don't pay "wholesale" anything. They pay out royalities. Artists make their percentage. As do writers, label etc.

So much of what you're saying make no sense. Everything you're talking about is past tense.

Streaming pay wholesale for each album they sale as a digital album , it's cheaper then a physical album. It's no items to front so they don't pay upfront, they probably pay quarterly

Spotify, amazon download, Google play, iTunes, they keep records, sell the albums then pay the record labels probably quarterly what the labels asking.
