Are there any catches w/ these 7 day free trial gym passes?

Just curious...off to visit my fam in NY and my local gym doesn't have any franchised locations outside of where I live. I was a member of Gold's and I would use the Howard Beach facility (horrible). I think their one day guest pass is something like $15. I figure that this time when I go up, I could try a 7 day guest pass at another gym to see how I like it...and if so, pay the guest pass fee after the 7 day trial expires (and the next time I'm up in NY). That being said, are there any catches with the trial passes, or is it just simply cancelling on the day it expires? Thanks!

yeah, the catch is they take down your personal information and subsequently spam the hell out of you.

Yeah, do not do it unless you know there is a gym you truly plan on joining for a long time.

These "high energy" employees will call/email you round the clock.

They are pretty much like ultra-aggressive telemarketers on 3 cans of Redbull.

Well, damn. I can deal with the emails, because creating a dummy account will solve that....the calls, tho. :smh: I'm not cool with it.

The catch is you're not going to accomplish much in 7 days.

The catch is, I work out on the regular, bruh.

What that got to do with you going to a gym for 1 week?

I think youre misunderstanding his situation. He's visiting family in a different location so he wont be there for a long time. Thats why he only needs the gym for the week

Repped.

Thought it was easy to understand, but I guess not

No catch, just do it bruh.

 at dude saying you wont accomplish much in a week.

Rome wasnt built in a day.

I wasnt talking about him and his situation.

I was just generally answering the question.

I apologize for taking the spotlight off you you op.

Jesus.

Rome was built in a WEEK either.

You're still wrong if you think people aren't making gains in a week, tho. If that was what you were getting at. If not, my bad.

i use groupon and sign up for all kinds of gyms/boxing/yoga/etc. i have a seperate email for this cause they do spam the heck outta ya.

A few years back I was going to get a 24Hr Fitness 7 day pass just so I can hoop indoors for a few days. When they were signing me up the dude was asking me all kinds of question on what my fitness goals were etc and I was like im just trying to hoop ...he was like oh..well the courts are off limits during the 7 days due to liability/ laws blah blah....lesson learned for me. Next time just keep quiet lol.

by that reasoning, shouldnt all the equipment be off limits too?

they'll say what they can to lock in a membership.
