They probably will find a way to drop the movie eventually.
But they didn't pull it from its an original date to drum up some publicity - they probably pulled it because they need time to figure out how to handle this. And because theaters pulled out because they weren't prepared.

Half the theatres pulled out because of the threats.
How does that build up any sort of real buzz?
If anything, any momentum it had was completely derailed by this move.
Clearly you know nothing about marketing if you think this is a PR move by Sony.

I do remember the idiot that shot up the theater during the Dark Knight showing, and some of the people sued the theater. It could very well be the theaters don't want the drama if something did pop off.

YALL missing the point, I'm not saying SONY is totally behind ALL of this. The hackers made the threats, therater pulled the movie, Sony falls in line, lord knows they don't want to look like they don't care. We all know it's all about the $$$. It's gonna come out later and Sony will play into it, so you'll check out what you wasn't able to see before.

I doubt this movie ever releases it got horrible reviews and I'm pretty sure they would get hacked again if they tried

I haven't read this thread in its entirety yet, but Im glad North Korea hacked Sony..the movie they were about to release is disrespectful as hell. At the same time, this situation will make our IT folks better nationwide
