For men who do not yet want children but hate condoms, or for those that can’t face a vasectomy, there may soon be a new option when it comes to contraception.

Scientists are working on a substance called Vasalgel – an injectable ‘barrier’ that seals the small tube that carries sperm, called the vas deferens.

The gel works like a filter to stop the passage of sperm while allowing other fluids through, but unlike a vasectomy, it is easily reversible.

But then again, you can go in raw....temporarily

If your in a committed relationship then this would be awesome, but can't be going raw with randoms.

Strange how kids with autism spiked astronomically when women started taking birth control. I wonder what this will do

That's a false equivalency.

Autism didn't spike. It had always been there. Due to lack of information coupled with social stigma Doctors often misdiagnosed or would even say there is nothing to diagnose, they just assumed autistic people were weirdos in the past. As more research came to light it became a more common diagnosis.

On a separate timeline, birth control was suppressed due to high level so of Piety in this country.  As women came into the work force in the 70's, and they wanted to be their own person without a husband, that didnt mean sex was just not gonna happen.  So birth control became more common as society progressed, and definitely spiked with the fear of AIDS/HIV in the late 80s and 90s.

The only reason people linked BC and autism is because they wanted to scare folks into thinking taking BC would effect any future children. It's a fear tactic that worked (exhibit A, your post).

...and for the record...no...I will not be a beta tester. I probably won't even take it when it first comes out on the market.  I'mma wait like 10 years from when it hits the shelves so most of the kinks are worked out.

Agreed with this. I absolutely hate condoms, but this don't sound too safe just yet

BC is extremely unnatural, to say that it doesn't have any effect on offspring I believe is short sighted. Seeing that borth control is relatively young. Anytime you go against natural production/ way life you will have concequences.

You need to cite some sources man.

I'll look for some. I remember reading something about chloride and oxytocin levels, I'll double check. To my knowledge, there's no pill on this planet that is 100% positive, there will always be negative affects. To what extreme the negative is, is a question I can't answer.

hmm i wonder if this will cause your sperm count to build up over time, kinda like the effect of doing "no fap".

I think studies have proven that release of sperm reduces risk of cancer though, maybe this might effect that too.

I have my vasectomy appointment scheduled for 12/19 at 930 am.
