What's up NT,
My friend entered a writing contest and he will win 3 bitcoins or around 1,050 USD if his story wins the poll vote.
He has also agreed to take $200 from this and send it to any charity. So I suggested NT, which had some really cool project in the past such as helping build a library in Nepal from what I remember. The problem is that NT doesn't have a digital wallet where we can send this money.
So considering how even Microsoft is now taking Bitcoin --- is there a way we can set this up to fund NT charity campaigns? Buy the NT fitted etc. @Methodical Management
Regardless, I think this will be mutually beneficial if my fellow NT'ers could vote for his story #5 Banking on Trouble: What's in a Name? and help him win.
Full story can be found here
Story Cliffs:
- My friend is Syrian
- Always gets checked by banks due to his arab sounding last name
- Western Union refuses him money
- Bank of America put a soft freeze on his account
- BoA lied about his name being on sanctions list
TL;DR
- Help my friend win story contest by voting for #5 here.
- $200 will be sent to charity of NT's choosing
PS: Bitcoin transaction are visible on a public ledger so everyone can check whether the money was sent and 100% of the money will reach the intended recipient unlike traditional donations that can take up to an 80% cut.
