I know there will be haters of all sorts on this and what not.

But been thru a lot in my life an these past 5 months have been really wanting to change my life and become a commited christian.

I reguarly go to church every sunday. Been doin it for a year straight. But still live ****** up.

Done a lot if ****** up things in my life and seen a lot.

Robbed, sold, stole, done drugs, borderline alcoholic etc.

I dont really feel like giving a backstory but will answer questions so feel free to ask me.

But yeah i beleive in god and heaven and hell amd all that.

Im at work right now so i dont really have much time to type up a better thread but mainly wanted opinions of what ppl think about turning over to god. Experiances, storys and beleifs.

I turned to islam at 22 and I have felt much much better. Like yourself I was enjoying life and a good portion of what it has to offer. I was free to do whatever I pleased but something was lacking. Inner peace in my case. So I looked at religions for about a year and made my choice and life has been difficult but easier in a sense.
Having rules has been quite easy and has led to many opportunities for me. It is a rough road but if you look at it like this, 6 decades is relatively quick. We are already halfway done with our lives.

Even though my beliefs are different from yours I have a few words if advice.
Even old men go to their death bed saying I will. so if you make a decision to go to church every Sunday do it.
If any athiest comes in and tried to persuade you from what you believe just mention this to them. It is quite simple.

If they (the atheists) are right and this life is meaningless both you and the athiest will turn to dust and eventually become the dirt from which you came.

If you are right, at least you have a chance.
The odds are with you.

You remind me of my self bro
......i go to church nearly every Sunday been in a Christian church my whole life ... I go blown to church.....
I live how I want....
Been a Christian a few times and tried to change my life but its not worth it for me and has never lasted.....
Its hard and I've gotten bored but if that's what you feel like doing more power to you

.
i believe in god but I don't believe he works as the Christian ppl say he does..... ...

Give yourself to good not God. You don't need fairy tales and religion for that. Start inside and work your way out. external changes won't do anything to help you internally. The more good you give the more good you receive. It's very simple but it takes time.

I wana give my life to god to live better and find that peace and happiness. Idk if im trippin or if god is really in my heart, or if all the wrong ive done in my life to myself and others is catching up and im desperate to change and not reapear a family cycle of imprisoment and pain and suffering.

Yeah i thought about what keifurban said about do good ot god but idk man mayne since i been in church a minute i cant really rock wit that.

There is always time to change. I'm not Christian but I have developed my relationship to my gods since I was a teenager. Religion is a support system in ways. But it is not the only answer. Support from religion should lead you to develop support for yourself. Thank your god for everything, ask for forgiveness for all the wrongs you have done in your life, and ask for your god to ride with you and make its presence felt in your life. You have to open yourself to that type of faith in something fathomable/unfathomable.

was on the same boat as you OP 10 yrs ago. Went back to church and was clean for 3 months but fell off due to family drama. Honestly, I was at peace with myself but couldn't stand the politics at church. My eldest child changed my life. I put that seed in her mom, she just delivered it.
Walk tall, stay humble and hungry yung bruh!

.. you tried to play diddy and he put the goons on you too huh

love God with all your mind and strength.
love thy neighbor as thyself.

no commandment greater than these.

I think its pretty simple living. only by grace is man saved. Everybody has their vices to overcome. Glad to see you trying to better your life but more importantly the lives of others. Don't think that you can go into a solitary bubble of worship. People should recognize your kindness and wisdom before they recognize your religion. The tree is judged by it's fruits. Go forth and produce good things for the world with your new faith!

I think you're investing in the wrong thing. Invest in yourself. True change comes from within, spend your energy there. Truthfully, you will always have a negative view of yourself if you are constantly comparing yourself to someone that was "without sin."

I can't knock anybody trying to better oneself, as long as you're not hurting others or yourself, good luck.

do what makes you happy

that is the best advice you'll get whether religion is that do or not
