Insane video game trailer for "Hatred" vol. when is a video game TOO violent?

killing innocent civilians in gta: okay
killing innocent civilians not in gta: not okay
The point of GTA isn't to just go around killing random civilians. You can do that but they didn't design it to ensure all you do is go around killing innocent people. There's missions and much more other things to do. Hatred on the other hand seems centered solely on killing civilians.

Even when you do kill someone in GTA you get wanted stars causing the police to chase after you.

Hmm. This is very interesting. Apparently everyone has a moral line that shouldn't be crossed when it comes to entertainment. To the guys saying 'it's just a game' would you feel that way if the main character was an unassuming doctor and the plot was to molest as many children possible, build your practice and eventually open an orphanage that is an undercover child trafficking ring? Is that just entertainment?

We are all animals, just highly sophisticated animals with a conscience and values. I honestly think that these movies/games/songs etc are subconscious tell-tales of what we would be comfortable doing in the most extrenuating circumstances.

I use a similar argument with rap music. It's mostly about killing and drug dealing. All in the name of entertainment, right? So if young thug made a song over a dope Mike Will beat, talking about raping and molesting children, would that be too far, or is it just entertainment? If it's unacceptable, then shooting at the reverend and mitch catching a body about a week ago is acceptable?

I'm glad this game ruffled some feathers. I want to hear the rationalizing.

By the way, anybody remember this game?

It's the same thing.

Sheesh we came a long way with graphics. I remember this game, this is wild goofy though compared to the other game, either way I dont think kids should play this type of stuff. Heck only reason I had GTA3 in Middle school is because my mom doesn't know a thing about video games.

Damb! Game looks wild. That intro was a little sketchy

But if it releases I might cop :nerd:

It was controversy about mortal kombat in the 90s,i played it regularly and probably got into less fights than before I was introduced to it.

Most of the controversy for this game comes from the issue that the creators may or may not be neo nazis( they're Polish and the creator likes to subscribe to certain questionable newsletters)

Guess everyone skipped over this. :smh:

Looks fun for about 2 hours, but I can see why people would have a problem with it. The story, message, and gameplay appear to be pretty vile. No reason it should be banned or anything though.

dude said he isn't a neo Nazi and the page in question was one he liked on FB for news on happenings in his area.

I took his statements with a large grain of salt

"As for me supposedly 'supporting' Polska Liga Obrony on Facebook," Zielinski wrote Polygon in a Facebook conversation today, "I've liked this page, because it's source of an information what is going on right now in the middle-east and Europe (and a lot of evil **** is going on — those are REAL problems, not our game). Some things media would not show, nor tell. So: no, I'm not any kind of 'supporter.'

"I don't watch TV, I don't have time to follow all the news. If there's some evil **** is going on in Europe or Middle East, I get the message on my wall. That's simply the only reason I've 'liked' this page. And I don't see how giving a 'like' is threaten as supporting something. (sic)"

What a ******** excuse. Like dude can't type in BBC.com (pause) or CNN.com in his web browser to get some damn news within seconds. Nah, he has to subscribe to an Islamaphobic facebook page to get his news because it's more "convenient"  I can't respect cowards like this who wont admit their biases when they're caught red-handed. Nevermind the fact that "liking" a facebook page is literally giving it support. This guy...

Yea, but that game would never see the light of day,

Killing in games is entertaining for w/e reason, I don't think anyone is going to be entertained by selling child booty on PS4.

People already do talk about rape and w/e in music, look @ Odd Future,

Pretty much anything goes in music but when it's a game people want to cry about it.

You can't tell me you're against this and then go shmoney dance in the shower while you wash your hair.

Not to mention when you kill civilians in GTA the cops come after you. It's actually discouraged.

Cmon bro. You know damn well, when you get one star you ain't stepping out the car to get busted and lose all your weapons.

When I got busted for the first time in gta, I thought it was a glitch.

My only issue is that it really doesn't have a story, it's just 'kill innocent people for no reason' and it's so gloomy and dark. The character has no history and nothing tells you exactly why the purpose of the game is the way it is. Game was made for shock value and to get people upset, it's working and that will lead the curiosity of the youth wanting to play the game.

Yea, ones a gangster sim and one is purely a killing sim.

Do you have a point or are you just going to ask us if we see the difference?

If your psychotic enough to go out and harm innocent people, I highly doubt a video game really plays that much of a part in your decision to do so.

Your morals were ****** up well before the screen loaded for the first time.

Killing innocents is not the goal of GTA, it's a diversion from the main missions. It also contains a massive world, crime story, other objectives etc ...GTA isn't a game about killing people, Hatred is.

Here comes our game, which takes no prisoners and makes no excuses. We say ‘yes, it is a game about killing people’ and the only reason of the antagonist doing that sick stuff is his deep-rooted hatred. Player has to ask himself what can push any human being to mass-murder.”

But hey, if you want to buy and play this game, you should be able to.

I know what the goal of GTA is, I've played them all.

I just don't see what the big deal is, they're both games where killing people is unavoidable.

Just because I can go skydiving in GTA doesn't mean it's not a game about killing, because it is.

I also have other options like extortion and bank robbing at my disposal.
