And this is why people get shot by the police....

Me and @WhatCanISay aren't the same person, sorry conspiracy theorists.

Nah but ya'll the same melanin.

It's what some call repetitive motion disorder (look up Tim Wise).

You & WhatCanISay are trying to rationalize with the truth by falling back on stereotypes and racist rhetoric.

Oh "no successful black man has ever been gunned down in the streets".

Oh "he must've been doing something he wasn't supposed to".

Oh "if he was wearing ________ he wouldn't be a target".

etc....

Black reality & white denial.

Provide me some evidence.

I'll wait. I don't need to tell you what I did or didn't not research.

You have something to completely undermine my statement, so ******* post it.
I'll wait lulz.

I'm honesty disgusted with how bigots get away with talking down on those with lighter skin.
Because of their own insecurities.

Straight incapable of succeeding losers, envious of those who are able to do something with their lives.
No respect, and there never will be respect .

you're the serial bigot here. making some wild *** generalizations.

you want evidence? what there's supposed to be photographic evidence of what Amadou Diallo was wearing the day he was murdered for just sitting on his stoop of his apartment building by four undercover cops?

explain to me what he did by sitting there to deserve that? he wasn't rocking some purple label?

A black man has to wear a suit or some garment signifying professional status but a white man can walk around in broad day light with assault rifles. You can literally pull up dozens of videos on YouTube right now of guys going out of their way to "open carry" assault rifles in public streets/big box stores.

I suggest you curb your ignorance.

To be honest, I NEVER, EVER, EVER seen an African American get gunned down in a tailored suit, coming out his self-owned law firm or big-time law firm which he works for/is a partner of.

I also NEVER seen an African American get gunned down while wearing scrubs and a lab coat, coming out of work, post-delivering a baby or performing heart surgery.

Coincidence? Nah. Smarten up, it's not an entire race. You racists that absolutely despite the white skin color will never gain the self confidence to actually be an important and recognized member of our society.

Why? Because you're too busy loathing in self-pity like the pathetic cowards that you are.
Grow up. There are plenty of VERY successful men and women in EVERY single race here in America.
You losers are the ones who are promoting a man killing inocente police officers and deeming it "GREAT THEY DESERVE IT"

Disgusting

Many people will not like what your saying but it is more the way you said it rather than the content. I for one have held the stance from day one that the resolution to all of this to include the "white supremacy" is education. How do you change a process from the bottom up...educate yourself on the process then work your way into a position to cause change. Will protesting spread awareness? Absolutely! Will it make those who affect policy flench? No! But if we work ourselves into those positions...Change can really take place. Thats just the way it is. We can kick, scream, fight all day long but until we put ourselves in positions for change, beginning at home and in our own community, wishing for change to fall out of the sky is far fetched. The problem is that our expectations are not conducive with the realities we live in. Hell most people don't like what I say but I am proof to those around me that you can come from a broken, low income home and turn my lemons into lemonade. Maybe we should stop blaming other people for our problems and focus on us. But hey...I'll probably be called "brainwashed" and an "uncle tom" because I'm not cop bashing.
Hey, I can't disagree with anything you say here.

But there's a problem. I know you were able to fight the broken, low income home, but for many it's so difficult. The odds are stacked against them and it's clear to see why they weren't able to go down the road you traveled. I'm sure I don't need to say that for you to understand since you yourself went through it.

Now how do we make that road easier to go down for these under privileged individuals. That's a question that needs to be answered/taken care of. It's not simple though, which is why it hasn't been solved. Also it seems like unfortunately people don't care.

I can't believe the dumb ish I'm reading in here.

So basically we have to have a dress code to not get bucked down by cops. That's basically what I'm reading.

And the back up accounts pop up.

Eric garner wasn't in a suit but he was stand up guy. Working hard to raise his kids. He sold loose cigs but that's not crack or weed.

So yeah maybe black men in suits don't get shot by cops but innocent/in harmful black men do.

Eric garner did not deserve to die at all...but he wasn't a stand up guy. You shouldn't even comment on at issue...misinforming people even more uninformed than you

People shouldn't be killed or judged by the way people dress...but I know a lot of youth who are doing nothing but reinforcing this stereotype...

You can't fight the way a man was raised to think...all you can do is educate them. Education is the key to both sides of the argument cause let's be honest...this is a never ending argument. But it does need to be argued...forever

So stand up guys aren't allowed to live?

Cause if folks with petty criminal records can get choked out then that puts a lot of folks regardless of color on the chopping block

Saying he wasn't a stand up guy was pointless...so many people have petty charges in this country  all races

Saying that he was was a standup guy wasjust wrong...I wasn't making a statement I was just correcting the misinformed.

It really isn't pointless...everything should be presented in its entirety.

^ I mean dude didn't have violent charges if I'm not mistaken. Just a bunch of petty stuff that's pretty common in America.

Not sure of all his charges so feel free to correct me

Just don't see a problem with him being called stand up.

This is trivial at this point but to he did have an assault charge...HE STILL DIDNT DESERVED TO BE KILLED.
I had to reiterate that before nters start coming at me crazy. Just saying

What's funny is that had there been no video, and all we had to go off of was the word of the cops, people would've said things like, "why would an unarmed dude attack two armed policemen?" We need body cams ASAP.

If the cops shot him, imo I think it would be justified. You don't need a weapon on you "VISIBLY" to be perceived as a threat. If I'm a cop I'm not taking chances, this guy was lucky enough to run into cops that took that chance. I'm not getting into a fist fight with a perp, I MAY try a taser, if it doesn't work I'm unloading.

But yes, I am 100 percent for cameras on the police.

I agree with you.

I was talking about the people who automatically discount any official statement from police. Like had deadly force been used, and there was no footage, so all we could go off of was the word of the police, there would be people that automatically dismiss what the police said and they would ask questions like, "why would an unarmed guy attack two armed policemen." Like in this thread:

http://niketalk.com/t/614444/philly...-finally-had-a-weapon-he-stood-no-chance/0_20
You have to either be white, or incredibly naive and/or stupid to think that we, black and brown minorities, have ANY reason to think anything said in ANY official police statement, particularly as it pertains to black and brown minorities, is at all credible.

You're god damn right the default when it comes to police organizations and their public statements is " **** you, you're full of **** " and like I said, you're damn naive if you don't  understand why that predetermined stance is 100% justified and appropriate.

Because its easier to place blame than it is to do honest reflection of onesself.
Its not deflection its truth. REAL change only comes from within.

Crime rate is actually down.

why don't police beat down and kill white people at the same rate? There's plenty of white on white crime

Let's keep it 100....white people are making a living and are wealthy off the prison system. It's modern day slavery because prisoners have to do prison labor. Crooked laws and prejudice has to exist to keep these systems flowing.

All i see is two gang members surrounding a civilian and the civilian feeling threatened defends himself....
If you swing first, it's not self defense, it's assault. From the looks of it they were about to apprehend him for whatever reason, and he resisted.
