No one is condoning anything, we're just saying we don't care .. same way when we die they don't care.

They made us feel this way. They made us feel like we can't have a relationship with them. We can't connect with them.

Eric Garner, Mike Brown, Tamir were all just "part of the job for them"

So sorry to say .. being a cop and dying in the line of duty is the risk you take and is "part of your job"

Not everyone, apparently.  A quick glance through this thread suggests that people were ginning up all sorts of preposterous conspiracy theories.  

It's unfortunate when an error in a topic post effects the deletion of a thread, but the individual judgment associated with the moderation queue entry was sound.  Had that post been a reply, the correct action would have been deletion.  It just carried an unintended consequence in this instance.  


There is a way to replace a topic post - but the workaround is fairly elaborate.  We can also just reassign the topic to another user.  If someone is willing to volunteer on that front and provide respectfully presented background and introductory material, we can reopen the thread and grant you control of that initial post to replace the one that contained slurs - or the OP could just actually follow the rules for a change, agree to edit his own post, and stop insulting people.

Not only are people condoning it, but they're in the streets chanting for more dead cops.

Dude in the last thread was saying more cops need to be executed.

Thread merge doesn't exist on this platform yet.  We can reassign control of the topic post in the original thread, but, considering the topic material, that's not a decision to be taken lightly.  You don't want to hand the ball off to someone with no composure or self-control.

Do you not have the capacity to just care when innocent people get killed?

Being a cop is a profession (one that most of us agree should exist). Unless you're on some anarchist angle, what sense does it make to have a blanket disdain for people who take a career that we think should exist...
