TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) – Florida authorities say a police officer was shot and killed in Tarpon Springs early Sunday.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the shooting occurred at around 3 a.m. in the Tampa Bay-area city and that a suspect has been taken into custody.

The Tarpon Springs Police Department identified the fallen officer as 45-year-old Charles Kondek, a 17-year veteran of the local police department. Originally from New York, Kondek had previously served on the New York City Police Department for more than five years, authorities said.


Authorities say Kondek responded to a call for service shortly after 2 a.m. Police said the suspect shot at the officer and then fled the scene in a vehicle and crashed into a pole and another vehicle. He was then apprehended by police at that location.


The Tampa Bay Times reports that Kondek was the father of five children.
A news conference is to be held later today.

I'm never for violence, man. I hope this **** ends. I don't wanna see no one else die. And I mean civilians getting killed by cops, as well as cops getting killed by civilians.

Ignorance as in the cops profiling all people of a certain background one way because of something that a couple of people did, which leads to cops targeting and killing certain people of a certain background

once again,

cop gets shot = front page news

average citizen gets shot = nobody cares

they think their lives are more valuable than an "average citizen" and that they have some sort of right to enforce unjust laws while being exempt from the very laws they enforce

ill never feel sorry for the cops

Average citizens get killed everyday, P/O don't. These are ambushed style killing.

didnt say that. the entire concept of a police force is 100% immoral and invalid in the eyes of truth and to those who truley know the meaning of right and wrong.

somebody will argue, society with police > society without police. in our current situation that may be true but that doesnt negate the fact the the police are a terrorist organization and a well funded and organized gang of thugs and mindless order followers.

if society as a whole understood the true nature of human rights **** constitutional rights, im talking god given birth rights of human beings as well as the principles of non agression and self defense, they would realize that a police force is simply immoral. no 1 man or group of men will ever JUSTLY have the right to set arbitrary dictates and enforce them upon others.

so i know it sounds extreme to some of you that ppl like me say **** the police across the board but its simply a lack of understanding of whats right and wrong. society has been made to NEED a police force by those who control the police force and this goes waaaaaaaay back. im looking at big picture **** here not isolated incidents

Right and wrong are subjective terms. There is no true meaning to them.
 
you might say "my uncles a cop and hes a good guy just wants to serve and protectect blah blah blah" that may be true your uncle is a good guy with good intentions who joined an evil entity weather he knows it or not. im not in the business of showing sympathy for others ignorance when theyre unknowingly contributing to the problem
 
when marshall law pops off that "good guy cop" is right here with the rest of them TRAMPLING all over your human rights and restricting your natural freedoms.
