How I Started My Shoe Collection

It all started on my 9th birthday. I've got a pair of white and grey Air Force 1s. I thought they were the coolest shoes in the world. I used to get my shoes at like Payless and no name brands. But these shoes I used to wear to school and the feeling was amazing. It was the feeling, not the looks, not the hype, not the price tag. But the feeling you get when you rock a pair of shoes that mean something to you more than just the price tag and hype. Playing basketball growing up in my area, shoes were a big thing. Its how we would start conversations and show ones personality. Its more than "just a shoe" its a lifestyle that I began to love as time flew by. I'm now a Senior in High School but my love for sneakers just motivate me to be successful and continue my collection as time goes on. I made tons of friends through this same passion as mine and also made alot of enemies but I'm just bored so I've decided to share where and how my love for shoes started.

When I was a kid I never had name brand shoes, though it's nothing I was really interested in or cared about. When I started working I bought Nike's because they were comfortable but I still wasn't into shoes that much. Now I am in my early 30's and started collecting in November of 2014. It's like an addiction now. Some I wear some are staying in the closet but it just feels good when they go in my cart I pay and. Then receive them. Is something wrong with me? The fact I'm in my 30's and just now getting in the game.

Naah, it's never too late to be a sneakerhead. Savor the addiction.

For me it started when i was 6, idolizing MJ growing like most and getting the Aqua 8s was like the greatest thing that had happened to me at the time. And you know as kids we mainly had that 1 pair of shoes for everything so i rocked those things til my foot grew too big (the next year :rolleyes).

But like OP it was about the feeling when you put them on. Having shoes before then they really werent nothing i was concerned with but when i got these 8s, it was all over from there. Im 27 now but I'll never forget that day my aunt surprised me with them.
