how/why is this still debated? I don't think anyone genuinely believes Ether was a better dis record than Takeover, but nobody likes a Goliath. the hood basically determined that Nas won, so Nas won. Jay also did himself no favors crying on the radio apologizing for Superugly, which only confirmed Nas' "you pop sh** apologize, n**** just ask Kiss" line.

U can't make a nas vs jay thread outright
U have to let another thread transform into a nas vs jay thread organically

Can't yall see that he's fake, rap version of td jakes
Prophesizing on your CDs and tapes

In all my years on NT, I've never seen a Nas fan not point out his shortcomings.

On the other hand....

[thread="615300"]I have seen Nas perform live 3 times now, and he is absolutely the worst live performer I have ever seen. He cant keep up with his flows that are playing over the speakers.  He forgets his words constantly.  He is just awful.[/thread]

[thread="615300"]I have never seen a Nas fan acknowledge this to be true.  In fact, Nas fans have vehemently denied this to be true.  Doesn't sound to me like Nas fans are pointing out his shortcomings.[/thread]

On the flipside, I've never seen a Nas fan say he was great in concert.

I've watched a few summer jam streams and I know Nas isn't very good live. He messes up lines all the time. We Nas fans acknowledge he's more of a headphones music artist

But that is just the thing for me that sways this argument far in Jay's direction. Hypothetically, lets just say musically, I think Jay and Nas are exactly even. Wouldn't Jay's far superior live performing ability completely tip this argument in Jay's favor?

I am a fan of both for what its worth.

^ I'm not swaying anyone in any direction, I'm just speaking in terms of fandom. It's a matter of preference.

But the jay z fans boys go around listing every thing not musical in justifying who is better. The only thing I care about is the music and I prefer Nas.

Let's also ask, "who is riding his wife's coattails to stay relevant?"

u mean kanyes

jay doesnt even have his own style

he copys what kanye wears

he doesnt even have a nice flow and his beat selection is garbage besides kanye.

nas and jay z both lost

kanye won

Totally hear you. Its all a matter of what you value. I love hip hop. I love both Jay's and Nas' catalogs. I am a big fan of both. But I am also a huge concert guy. Its one of my favorite things to do. So l value live performances a lot. And the fact that Jay is exponentially better live than Nas is ultimately what makes me prefer Jay.
