OFFICIAL 2015 M!AM! DOLPH!NS SEASON THREAD (6-10) / NEXT:

The chances of us staying @ 14 are slim. We're going to either trade up or most likely (perferably) down . Book it

No thanks, Mr. Ireland. I've had enough Odricks and Misi's instead of the Earl Thomas/Dez of the world.

I trade down too, 100%. Fill multiple needs > fill 1 need.

First round isn't strong this year, trade back and add depth.

Agreed... furthering that point the real picks are in rounds 2 to 5.

This would be the draft to trade down though.......The 2nd-4th round picks are where it's at this draft. If we can move down some and pick up a 3rd rd pick in the process, that's a plus imo.

But what about the offense? We really need a big body WR, Stills and Landry are not go get em WR's and not redzone threats.

Odrick was pretty good

Pretty good, when we could've had "elite". And now he's gone.

I doubt the phins would do it (Then again, it is the Tannenbuam show) but Dorial Green-Beckham has the potential but needs to get his **** straight

This is just me, but goin thru options, this that, etc, but I don't know if I "need" a big WR.

Cam/Sims both 6-5. Solid.

Stills is 6/6-1ish
Landry is 6-0
Matthews is 6-2

For me, if I can get a CB, somewhere, trade down, or forced to take at 14, either Peters, Kevin Johnson, or even Waynes, what about Dorsett at 47? :nerd:

Dorsett, Landry, Stills, Matthews
Cameron, Sims
Lamar Miller

Get a decent power back complement for Miller, maybe luck into getting Evan Mathis.....

We could cook with that. Imo.

I guess that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but we don't want another "wow we could've had that guy" WR tearing up the league. Lazor did seem to excel in an offense without a big WR though.

You should sit down for this man........

You always mention the Earl Thomas or Dez instead of Odrick/Misi. You won't believe it, but Omar brought up a good point.

That trade down netted those two AND Reshad Jones in the 5th. 3 starters on defense all this time.

Dude usually sounds like a moron, but he does have a point on this one.

(Note, I don't think the Jones pick came via trade, justthat he ID'd a safety he could get late, and still add Misi/JO).

 Omar

I hear ya. Coyle really needs to show me something with his personnel usage this year. Reshad should be due for a strong season.

I trust Hickey based on his success in last year's draft.

Two starters = Good
Five players who literally did not have a snap = Bad

I get why he didn't "take a risk" and go full on good guy, captain, small school. But that was last year.
SEC, ACC, Pac 12 players only this year please.
I'm 100% fine going no divas (ex: DBG)

Tripp, Lynch, Aikens, Fede all can improve year 2 tho.
Soliai, Hartline, Reshad, Jelani, Clay they ALL made big jumps after quiet rookie years.

Gotta give some guys time. Not everyone stars day one like Zach Thomas.

I fully agree with that, I also fully agree in the three year rule.
But how do you know what you have until you put them in the game... You can give those examples and they are good but you can also say guys who have had time but were bad picks either because they didn't fit the system, injuries or they just weren't good.
To break my 3 year rule Dion Jordan... they have No Clue what to do with this guy. Two years and nothing... With Fede, Shelby, Vernon and Wake he is legit a 5th option at this point. He's not a pass rusher nor was he in college yet that's what they are using him for. It's astonishing to me... Why not put... never mind. No need for another rant. Going with that Will Davis, JT... Horrible hips and no long game, Injuries. Martin, Egnew, DT... and so on.

Now are these on Hickey, No. But the Dolphins are currently (as of last year) going far out of their way to draft squeaky clean guys, I'm fine with that. But with small schools comes coaching them up. Again, I have seen NOTHING on the defensive side of the ball that gives me any confidence this current staff can coach young guys up. Jenkins showed he can actually play because of Injuries!! This dude balled out of his mind last year and would have stayed on the bench if it were up to Coyle.

And for the record, I actually like Tripp, Lynch, and Fede.

Ross has to pull the plug on Philbin if he cannot get anything out of these guys this season. Lots of talent but Philbin and Coyle are inconsistent.

Dion could be a monster if he was a 34 OLB and shed a few pounds. We are too invested in a 43 though.

Philbin isn't development though. He's the game plan guy + time outs guru. Situational guy. Don't think he directly has to get anything out of guys except their belief in he knows what he's doing...
He's, so far, failed on those.

Lazor has done a good to great job and will be better this year. He got the most out of Two rookie starters, something Coyle has never done and honestly refuses to do.

Coyle has not put the defense in position to be great. Jones has one great year, then a year of nothing because Coyle changed his position... If it's not broke, don't fix it. Wake has regressed because he is taken out of games IN THE SECOND SERIES. He is taken off the field in obvious pass rush situations in the 4th... No development on Jordan. Don't get me started on the 4th Quarter in general...

Dolphins are a natural 4-3 team but they have ran 3-4 packages, 5-2 as well as a ton of nickle. Jordan is a LOS and Coverage backer. His pass rush is OK at best right now.

Whether you trust him or not, Miami has done their work on Washington corner Marcus Peters, way beyond their Combine interview with him.

The ONLY CB I like more than Trae :smokin

Ooooooooooohhhhhhh, I like that.

I didn't think they'd give him a chance. I would love him getting a chance in Miami. Absolutely love it.

He's my number 1 corner... I like Tare a lot but Peters is that guy.

I never slotted him to the Dolphins because of their staff and how squeaky clean they have tried to be. Would 100% love that move as well.

Exactly. That's what I said earlier when we were discussing Wayans. If it weren't for the off-field stuff, he would easily be a top 10-15 prospect.

I keep forgetting that it's Tannanbaum's show now. He just wont automatically cross someone off like Philbin would

He's a flight risk, not more than DGB. But if we're taking risky picks at 14, why not go for the gusto and take DGB, or trade back and take him?

I would be AMAZING if we can somehow come out of the draft with BOTH of them!!!
