OFFICIAL 2015 M!AM! DOLPH!NS SEASON THREAD (6-10) / NEXT:

I'd agree with you CP with Miller and wanting a bigger back like Gurley. Don't think his injury sets his career back at all. But yea... would go nuts for Duke. But also Love Phillip... just not for this team.

Tannehill's strength is not the deep ball and the Dolphins would then (as of now) have two deep ball recievers. Also doesn't fit the offense, he does some good underneath routes (come backs and such) but he loves that 9.

Would also be really happy with Trae or to trade down a couple times and get either Brown or Goldman... I have Brown rated higher. Better motor, doesn't get caught in the wash at the end of games. Either way I do believe you can trade down a solid 5 to 10 spots, pick up two picks and still pick up one of these guys and coming back to get Carter from Stanford in the second.

One thing to keep in mind w/Dan Quinn- his former agent, Mike Tannenbaum, is running Miami. Some teams worried if they wait for Quinn he...

Could end up replacing Joe Philbin next month, regardless of what the Dolphins are saying. Jets had that concern, at least to some degree

Tannenbaum no longer reps Quinn and Fins maintain support for Philbin but there are some skeptics who wonder if they'd pounce.

Will be interesting to see if Atlanta waits for Dan Quinn - they and the 49ers were impressed by him. Is he out there for Denver in the end?

As for Falcons, Teryl Austin has strong support there too. And they love Josh McDaniels but I continue to hear strong he's not leaving NE

Meh... no movement at all. Just what ifs until Quinn randomly catches a flight to Miami.

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora
Source tells me there is no chance Miami will hire Quinn if available next month. If team interested in him waits on him, they can get him

WHAT. A. CLOWN.

Forgive me bros, I need to stash this for somewhere later. Pay me no mind......

These are the Miami Dolphin Pro Bowl players during the Marino Prime of 1984-1994

Bob Baumhower NT 1984
Ed Newman OG 1984
AJ Duhe LB 1984
Brian Sochia DT 1988
Jeff Cross DE 1990
Keith Jackson TE 1992
Irving Fryar 1994
Roy Foster OG 1985-86
Ferrell Edmunds TE 1989-90
Keith Sims OG 1994-95
Mark Duper WR 1984 1986
Reggie Roby Punter 1984 1989
Bryan Cox LB 1992 1994

Mark Clayton WR 1984, 85, 86, 88, 1991
John Offerdahl MLB 1986, 87, 88, 89, 1990
Richmond Webb OT 1990, 91, 92, 1994
Dwight Stephenson C 1984, 85, 86, 87

A Punter, some offensive guards, an offensive tackle, a Center, 2 linebackers (not at the same time) a couple Nose tackles (not at the same time), his receivers (not because of Dan apparently) an his mighty tight end Ferrell Edmunds.

CLEARLY, Dan was workin with the same talent as Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Ronnie Lott, Charles Haley with side dishes like John Taylor, Tom Rathman, and whatever Olineman he had.
Or Aikman with Emmitt, Irvin, Deion, Haley, Maryland, and side dishes in Harper, Novacek, Darren Woodson, and Daryl Johnston. Not to mention pro bowl/HOF type lineman like Newton/Williams
Or Kelly with Thurman, Reed, Bruce Smith, Bennett, and side dishes like Shane Conlan and James Lofton.
Peyton when he had Harrison, Wayne, Edge, Freeney, Sanders, and a side dish like Dallas Clark
Brady has played with Moss, Welker, Gronk, Wilfork, Seymour, Ty Law, Samuel, and whatever oline "pro bowlers" throughout his prime.

Groups of hall of famers and nice complimentary pieces for those QB's. Dan played 4 years with one HOF Center.

Russ is out here workin with Lynch, Sherman, Kam, Irvin, Wagner, Earl Thomas, Michael Bennett, KJ Wright, all on one roster, at the same time. Seahawks have a better defensive core of players in one damn year than Miami had from 84-94, but we gonna elevate status based on Pro Bowls and Starting Lineup figures.

The Don is the man but he really screwed ol' Danny boy, never adjusted well to the salary cap era. I blame him for much of that, as well as keeping Olivadotti on the staff

Ha, naw it was Dan's fault. He had 43 Pro Bowlers or some ****.

(Being told this in other threads).

I know who exactly you are using that for too....

Dolphins Must Consider Cleaning out Toxic Wide Receiver Situation | Bleacher Report
http://teamstre.am/17IqjTr

Agree with this entire article.
Also believe the first round would need to change though and you would Need and Want to draft a White, Parker, or trade down once or twice and draft Jaelen Strong who you can get at the bottom of the first/top of second. Love all three of those guys.

VERY interesting thing happened today.

Yesterday I posted my mock draft in the Draft thread. I have us taking Shaq Thompson.

Today, Mel Kiper's mock came out, with us taking.......Shaq Thompson. :pimp:

Folks, I have said for months I want a CB with this first round pick. I would love Trae Waynes. But, Shaq.......

The man played LBer, Safety, RUNNING BACK, and Special Teams at U-Dub. The guy had like 5 defensive touchdowns. He is an animal.

You put someone like that on the field with Dion Jordan, you have playmakers on the field now. Get rid of Coyle, and we could use them boys to do some special ****.

Look at Seattle. Hell with slot here, slot there, they grab talent, put them on the field, and let them go. We need to get in on that.

Shaq, Jordan, Jenkins, Jones, Taylor, Grimes, Wake (the 2 old guys) Vernon, suddenly we'd have youth, speed, size, pass rush, cover guys (Grimes and Taylor) hitters in Jones, Jenkins, Shaq, shore up the DT spot, add some depth at CB, maybe try to steal McCourty like we talked about, that defense would be FUN.

Well, if we fired Coyle.

And face it. Billicheck. Rex. And Bowles. The AFC East Defenses are a damn joke. We literally might have the 4th best defense in the division, yet we have a ton of talent, and could get some more with the addition of Shaq + whoever else.

So we kinda have the option. Try to rebuild the defense like this, or should we push all in and grab WR/RB/OG/OT/TE in the draft and really just load up Ryan Tannehill and Lazor with some new toys?

Interested to see which way we lean.

Ok... You have Jordan, Jenkins, and Shaq... 3 OLBs and Misi in the middle. Jordan can be forced as a DE, he is not a DE. He plays much better 5 yards back and in space and the last couple of games really showed that. I also believe with Misi, Jenkins, and Jordan in the middle LB is set for 5 years at the least. True story.

Having that many LBs, then would you be changing things to a 3-4? If so guess what, you have to stand up Wake again and Vernon doesn't fit anymore.

I love Shaq... he is a f-cking animal. But I don't like the move for this team.

I still believe in trading back... will be a LOT of line (offense and defensive) talent in this draft. Would not be made at all getting two DTs and one OG/OT/C (pending who it is) while still getting a corner. With all the receivers the Dolphins will face next season there is no way they can't grab a top talent at corner.

Just my thoughts but we are clearly anxious for this off season.

We do agree on getting rid of Coyle and the defensive staff... f-ck that guy.

Why Getting Branden Albert Back Healthy Is Vital for Dolphins

No need to go read... this is thee most No Sh-t article there is.
Gee having your LT so that everyone else can play their positions is important? It's that season...

Remember tho, look at all the versatile guys we'd have, and what we can do with them.

Want Jordan at OLB? Move Shaq to Safety. :nerd:

Wake gets hurt? Move Jordan to DE, Shaq to OLB, then whoever we have at backup Safety.

What if we get rid of Misi? Move Jenkins inside, Jordan and Shaq outside. 3 ANIMALS out there. (Not to mention Jones and Wake/Vernon still on the field. :pimp: )

3rd and 1, need a yard, put Shaq in the backfield. Put Jordan out wide at TE. Those two can do anything, or at least THE THREAT of doing anything, use them. Be creative.

I FULLY agree with what you're saying and the god damn packages this team could put together. The creativity this defense COULD have...

But in reality Coyle is the current defensive coordinator. It took him almost two seasons to put Jordan in a position to succeed. He doesn't cover the flats and will constantly put the defensive backs 10 yards off the ball... when it's 3rd and 1... but when it's 3rd and long he will go into complete prevent. He had a game plan that was working against the Broncos... gave that game away. He literally put Reshad Jones in thee worst position for a year coming off a great year. And then figured it out this year again... top 5 safety in the league. He takes out a, albeit declining, great pass rusher in Wake on the second defensive drive of games... constantly.

This isn't a staff that lets me know they can handle an influx of talent at one position.

With that said I love where your head is at and I love Shaq, dude is a freaking animal. And if we were running this team, well we wouldn't be picking at 14 But we also would be able to make that work. I don't believe it's in the cards for this coaching staff and they haven't given me a reason to believe they can handle it.

Shaq is the kind Rex, Bill, Tomlin, Sea, SF etc would murk fools with.

If we go CB, great. If not, Shaq would make me really happy. A solid OG/OT would work as well.

Fully agreed.

Would Love to see Shaq in the teal... would hate to see him in no man's land like Jordan has been. Honestly I hate to see Jordan like that.

Shaq is the only one I would be fine to take right at 14... either way I would love to see a trade down.

Like I said... Coyle is, and will stay, in charge of that defense and he will continue to screw things up. Go ahead and get ready to see a lot of 3rd and Longs converted again...

There is nothing in his tenure that shows me he can utilize this group properly or that he has gown as a coach to become more creative and be a better coach than he has shown from the year before. Nothing.

Here's to 6-10 in 2015

As the North team was practicing this morning, I spotted Joe Philbin strolling up and down the sideline. He appeared to be trying to put on a poker face, but his interest clearly appeared to be in Danny Shelton, a defensive tackle out of Washington who was dominating nearly everyone who tried to block him. In fact, he was being held by so many desperate offensive lineman that his name and number had literally been ripped off his jersey.

Would not be made at all getting two DTs

From the draft thread:

Pick No.
14
MIA
Trae Waynes
CB
Michigan St.
The Dolphins need a complementary cover corner to fill out a secondary that features a stud in Brent Grimes.

Fully endorse this pick.

Would also like trading down for Malcolm Brown or staying put and getting Danny Shelton.

If everyone would just listen to me........ :D

We had no need for Dez even tho we might have liked him.

Earl is another story, but Odrick and Misi vs just Earl, no guarantee Earl would be great with us without the 12 other Studs he has in Seattle.

Trading down is the right thing to do.

 So you didn't disagree with what Fireland did? I hated his philosophies of not taking the BPA, it's probably what did him in.

I think trading down can be the right thing to do, but in the spot he was in? He picked a guy in Odrick that really hasn't made an impact, and Misi is hard to count on to stay healthy.
