OFFICIAL 2015 M!AM! DOLPH!NS SEASON THREAD (6-10) / NEXT:

Yeah this team is a mess. A lot of team chemistry issues at hand. Direct reflection of poor leadership, and a lack of institutional control. Signs were there with the Incognito situation.

Report: Dolphins parting ways with Kevin Coyle

Before the Dolphins fired coach Joe Philbin on Monday, there were reports that had defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle on the chopping block as well.

During interim coach Dan Campbell’s introductory press conference, he said he wasn’t ready to talk about potential changes to the staff which meant Coyle was still employed if not exactly safe and sound in the job. Reports that the Dolphins had reached out to Jim Schwartz, Mike Smith and Greg Schiano about taking over their defense didn’t do much to make things any cozier.

The other shoe reportedly dropped on Thursday. Albert Breer of NFL Media reports that the Dolphins have decided to fire Coyle.

There’s no word on who will take over the Dolphins defense with Coyle out of the picture. Whoever does get the reins will be tasked with bringing together a defense that balked at playing Coyle’s scheme and held a closed-door meeting with coaches last week about making changes to it.

The new coach will also be tasked with finding a way to get big-ticket defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh to perform at a level closer to the one he was at in Detroit before signing a huge contract with Miami as a free agent this offseason. It’s a full plate with a little more than a week to go before the Dolphins are back on the field.

We have made the following coaching staff changes:

Lou Anarumo will serve as defensive coordinator.

Jeff Burris has been promoted to assistant defensive backs coach.

Assistant DBs coach Blue Adams will continue to work with safeties.

I can't wait for the usual Dolphins routine.

New regime in. Purge the "mistakes" of the old regime, only to make their "mistakes". Fire regime. Bring in new regime and do it all again!

At least we have a nicer stadium

Which may I add, needs to have a name regime change as well

Allllll sorts of speculation tonight on the state of the team. That Campbell won't last past this season. That the scouts and Hickey are goners. That we are already researching potential head coaches for 2016. This and that, that and this.

AFC is lacking the powerhouses of the past but we're still in perma-rebuild mode. :smh:

Reality of that is tho, complete and total rebuild, without the roster purge.

New GM, HC, OC, DC etc. That's what we've wanted, right?

Yep but Tannenbaum doesn't make you nervous? Or the rumors of Parcells consulting on all of this? We don't want another Mangini-like retread in here

Of course they make me nervous. But we can't be lucky enough to lose them too.

Dolphins' Tannenbaum pushed owner to hire Dan Quinn after 2014 season
October 11, 2015 9:04 am ET

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, who fired head coach Joe Philbin last week after mulling doing so several times in the past, was insistent that Philbin remain in charge this offseason, which precluded making a switch in the winter. Mike Tannenbaum, who was formally brought in as Miami's vice president of football operations right after the conclusion of the 2014 season, had long championed the hiring of Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, sources said, but any pursuit of him was rendered moot by the owner.

We could've had DAN QUINN as head coach but Ross overruled Tannenbaum on the coaching decision. This is the WORST OWNER IN PRO SPORTS. We will never have a winning season as long as he is the owner.

Hope he chokes on his caviar

Found one player who seemed legit disappointed Philbin is gone: Greg Jennings. Philbin was a big part of reason Jennings came to Miami.

Hope this dude legit loses playing time. What a bum, Parker and Stills should get his reps, forget the veteran crap

 Jennings

Cuz he knows he's about to sit his *** on the bench until we need him now. Parker and Stills should have been getting reps over him since week 1. Joe was pissin me off playin him.

You know how many perfect passes he's dropped this year? :smh:

He's been a waste of reps from the beginning, no need for him. I'd rather Rishard get reps over him too, make him the #5

Worst 5 O-Lines by pressured dropbacks %:

32. St. Louis (38%)
31. Miami (37%)
30. Detroit (34%)
29. San Diego (33%)
28. Jacksonville (33%)
quinn couldve made us a line like he did in atl
