OFFICIAL 2015 M!AM! DOLPH!NS SEASON THREAD (6-10) / NEXT:

This is a team that — have you heard this before? — is simultaneously soft, broken, confused, too young and too old, undisciplined and so unexpectedly bad they're not going to end hope in December this year.

They're ending it by early November.

And if you want to know why, there was the Dolphins old friend, Incognito, to say it.

"We kept running the same play, and they couldn't stop it," he said.

The same play?

"Ten times, 15 times," he said.

Incognito pulls as a lead blocker. The running back follows.

"Just a simple running play," he said. "But we got physical. We knocked them around. We imposed our will on them all day right from the start.

 :smh: Clowns

Edit:

The offense now has scored 20 points or fewer in six of eight games.

Turns out what they actually built was a flawed team that has the worst division record of any team in the league (0-4) and a roster that has been outscored 137-52 against other AFC East teams and ranks in the bottom half of the league in nearly every key defensive category.

On Sunday, the Dolphins made history for all the wrong reasons: According to Stats Inc., this was the first time in NFL history that a team allowed two players (LeSean McCoy, Karlos Williams) to run for more than 100 yards and a receiver (Sammy Watkins) to catch passes for more than 150 yards in the same game.

In the first half of the season, Miami faced seven of those in Kirk Cousins, Blake Bortles, Tyrod Taylor twice, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Hoyer and Marcus Mariota. They faced only one elite quarterback (Tom Brady).

And yet Miami is allowing a 97.1 passer rating, 22nd in the league

And this is worrisome: Over the final eight games, the Dolphins face top 10 quarterbacks in Brady and Tony Romo (projected to return that game from injury) and Phillip Rivers; Super Bowl winners in Brady, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco; and No. 1 overall picks (Sam Bradford, Andrew Luck).

Stop worrying about the QB and the offense folks, they ain't the problem.

Really strange.......

We pay a ton for Suh. Great. We have this great DLine.

We draft Philips in the 2nd round? Why?

I mean, I like the kid, but what if we took LB Denzel Perryman, to go with Misi and Jenkins, behind Suh, Wake, and Vernon?

Parker, Philips, Douglas, McCain, Ajayi, Thompson, and Lippett. This is our draft class.

Couple catches, couple sacks, could yards rushing, and a ton of DNP - Inactives. |I

We ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL know we need a ton of defense this year. Why do I have this feeling they'll draft OT, OG, TE, QB, and one Safety?

**** :smh:

CP, it's all facets. Special teams is playing sloppy football. Offense can only score 20+ in 2 of 8 games. Defense gets gashed no matter who is on the field. This entire team is bottom barrel and it will take years to fix.

Funny, I was reading that Barry Jackson stuff and then found you posted it

20 points is an arbitrary, meaningless number.

Russ scored 13 last week, and won.

It won't take "years". It just takes one solid off-season + coaching to revamp a team.

Happens every year in the NFL.

Now, is Tannenbaum that guy? We'll see. Maybe drafting defense will be more his speciality.

Look it's real simple. This team needs a coaching staff that develops football players, coaches to their strengths, and exploits mismatches. We've got guys that have no business being in their positions and that has hurt us big time. And the scouting department continually effs up on drafting, with this draft class adding squat to the team. We overpay for a DT and then draft one in the 2nd round? Despite needing secondary help, despite needing guards, LB's, etc.

The team pays all this money for a Pro Bowl TE and he is barely utilized in the passing game.

The team gambles on an injury prone safety and he, shocker, is out for the season with an injury.

The team pays $100 million to a QB that has a 7-15 record in his own division.

The teams like the Pats take a Dion Lewis who was out of football and turn him into a machine that produces in that system. Can the Phins ever do that?

The team drafts a WR with a bad foot 14th overall despite trading a 3rd for Stills, 6th to dump Wallace, signed Jennings in free agency. But fail to address weak spots at LB, LG, RG, and CB.

This team is an absolute #%#@^ show and it starts with ownership. Been saying it for a long time, we have not had one winning season under Ross, dude is bad news. He employs people like Hickey (who no other team wanted) and Tannenbaum (loser with the Jests) and Carl freakin Peterson?

Not sure I remember a lower point in this franchise as a fan. At least during the 1-15 season you knew a 1st overall pick was coming. And of course, no Andrew Luck in that draft

Some valid points. Some meaningless points.

But your track record for what's actually real isn't too strong.

And draft classes don't count only one year. Some take time. Reshad, Soliai, Smith, Miller, Hartline, Vernon, Rishard, Sims, Jenkins, etc.

Rookie class has hurt us this year, doesn't mean 2-3-4 of them can't help out soon. Ajayi looks like he might, soon.

 Track record? My track record is about half my life since our last playoff win, damn right I'm gonna fire off everyday.

Draft classes don't count only one year yes, but since when has everything gone according to plan. You gotta realize that we're about to count on Mike Tannenbaum to lead a rebuild. What's his body of work?

I don't just mean Miami. You callin out Doc, KG, Ray,Rondo, Pierce, etc.

Saying this is the worst period, ever, when 1-15, Cleo Lemon, Ted Ginn, Cam Cameron giggles at your cluelessness.

It's bad. But stop the worst all time, will take YEARS to rebuild, etc. Just stop with that.

We're one bad game from you sayin cut Miller, Landry, Pouncey, Tannehill, Suh, Reshad etc. Every year.

Tannenbaum built the Jets that went back to back AFCCG, no? I'm not positive, maybe I'm wrong, but thought he helped with that.

Won't matter who we draft if we can't teach them how to play. Comes down to coaching.

With luck, next year DVP, Philips, Ajayi all start to play well. Then we land 3-4 defenders from 2016 class. Then we'll start to see some growth.

Need a Jimmy type Zach, Taylor, Madison, Surtain type haul the next 2 drafts. O is almost complete. LOAD UP on defenders the next two years.

hope it doesnt take years
but right now sure looks that way

Yep, I see too much optimism in here and not enough realism.

This franchise is really, really in poor shape so I'm not sure what the reasoning is on being optimistic. This franchise isn't in position, and hasn't been for a long time, to succeed consistently. Ownership and leadership must be good, and Miami has bottom barrel in both categories.

Join the dark side brothers. It's only been 15 years since Lamar Smith ran us to our last playoff victory.

Only, we ALL have said Ross sucks, and the FO is a mess. We all just try and figure out a way for the talent to overcome.

Spent part of my day tweeting with fans, lot of them starting to turn on Tannehill.
Bunch of idiots.

I pointed out how DREADFUL we are in draft, horrible owner, poor FO, garbage coach, poor OC, terrible DC, patchy OL, atrocious LBers, garbage secondary, non threat DLine, NOTHING out of 2015 draft class

And the QUARTERBACK is what they focus on????? What the ****?

So, someone points out Andy Dalton, "leading" his team. HE'S the reason........

Since 2011, Bengals have drafted almost a dozen starters + another 6-8 capable rotational players. (Like the Gio-Hill combo, starter/backup)

Since Tanne, we've pulled OV, Miller, Rishard, Juice, James, Jenkins. In almost 40 picks.

2014
Dalton, year 4. 64%, 3400 yards, 19 TD, 17 INT, 83 rating. 10 wins.

Tanne, year 3. 66%, 4045 yards, 27 TD, 12 INT, 92.9 rating. 8 wins.

Same year, same AFC, same era. And Tanne is also the better running QB. Yet, Dalton was way worse, better record. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Then, year later, Dalton is exploding, and our fanbase is starting to look for another QB to ruin.

It's like building a dominant defense, only allow 12 points a game, but the offense only scores 7 a game, so the fans start demanding a new Safety.

Get a GM.
Get a HC.
Get a OC.
Get a DC.
Get a Oline
Get a Defense

THEN worry about if we really need a QB.

I told you man, a lot of Tannehill homers have pulled an about face. Spun a 180. Turning on Tanne.

Yes there are weak spots everywhere, but you know how you have a mancrush on Luck, because he overcame so many defiencies and poor coaching to make the playoffs 3 times. Tannehill hasn't even approached a wildcard spot. The other parts of the team are bad but you're seeing that many of the top QB's in this league, playoff QB's, are making the playoffs with a porous defense or a bad coach.

He's not the worst and he's not the best. He still can't feel a rush coming and I still don't see him commanding audibles and formation changes like top guys. System sucks but again, we've already churned Sherman, Philbin, Ireland, etc. how much more needs to be changed?

I must say, you've stuck by #17 through thick and thin. Unfortunately, I can see in my crystal ball that eventually you're going to turn on him too. It's only a matter of time, like the others who already have.

Who’s at fault for the Dolphins ranking an astounding 31st against the run?

According to Pro Football Focus, the blame rests primarily with four players:

1) Earl Mitchell (rated 187th among 187 qualifying interior defenders against the run; incidentally, backups Jordan Phillips and CJ Mosley are 172nd and 173rd);

2) now injured Cam Wake (rated 128th against the run among edge defenders);

3) Olivier Vernon (107th); and

4) Kelvin Sheppard, rated 142nd of 162 linebackers against the run.

PFF doesn’t blame these four who all rank in the top 40 at their positions against the run: Suh (37), Derrick Shelby (40), Koa Misi and to a lesser extent, Jelani Jenkins (fifth and 40th).

More good stuff from Barry Jackson. I hope he doesn't leave the Miami media, he's really good at his job.

Now that being said, Earl Mitchell is a huge free agent bust. I remember fans giving Hickey credit for that one but he's been no good as a Dolphin. Wake, no surprise against the run, can't set the edge anymore. Mosley is another one that has only hurt us. Phillips should've NEVER been drafted.

Don't pay OV either.

I'm not turning on Tanny.

I fully agree that the entire Owner, FO, and Coaching is the initial problem. It's what I've been singing the last (insert number) years.

Dating back to Wayne... this team has success without being a stable franchise. Tanny being a scape goat like he is the lone problem with this team has to be the dumbest thing I see though. Having Lazor constantly calling dumb a-s plays doesn't help Tanny. Tannehill isn't responsible for being blown out 4 times... I'm counting the Jets game as a blowout.

There are Great pieces on this team... lack of coaching and prep kills them. Lack of depth kills them. Lack of using draft picks kills them. Not knowing how to use players kills them (see Suh the first few weeks). Having Mitchell being killed and gashed every week kills them in the run game. Having Brent Grimes fall down every other route kills them.

This team man... why did I have to be a Dolphins fan.

Wayne Huizenga is Robert Kraft compared to Ross.

If Ross really wanted to win, he wouldn't employ losers like Dennis Hickey, Jeff Ireland, and Mike Tannenbaum. He wouldn't hold on to Joe Philbin when Dan Quinn was recommended for coach and he vetoed the hire. He wouldn't try to hire Harbaugh while he still employed a coach.

Ross is the constant in all this losing.

Comparing two owners who aren't good doesn't do anything for me to be honest. They both lose and don't do well when it comes to bringing the right people in... bringing up wayne wasn't saying anything other than the FO + Coaching has been a problem for a very long time.

Wayne had very little losing or .500 seasons at least. But I get it...
