Im 25 years old senior in college in the market for a new car. I currently have a car im going to sell for 2k. Then I have income taxes and some other side money coming in January. I was thinking of buying a 2006 BMW 3 or 5 series for around 5-7k.

How are these cars? Do they last long?

I know people say the maintenance is high on them but what is the worst that could go wrong?

I also have two jobs and very low monthly rent.

(sorry for any typos) on my phone.

You know damn well it ain't. Don't worry about the worst, the best is still gonna hit your pocket. Find a used TSX to satisfy your luxury craving and call it a wrap.

Op you want real wealth you gotta be like Jesse Pinkman from that Breaking Bad show. Cop da hoopty, rock Converse All-Stars, dress like a bum. Stack your bread. Pretty soon you'll have so much money you'll be giving it away to your neighbors.

Nice sneakers and nice cars are only for men who want to impress other men. Don't let these NTers steer you down the wrong path.

The worst that can happen is that you buy a bmw.
But srs the worst that can happen is that something breaks and you end up spending more than youve spent on the car for repairs. Stay in youre means and cop a honda b

Relying on tax return for car down payment = take the bus, focus on career, try our best to research sound investments, and resist the urge for instant gratification (cars, shoes, luxury items) until you're REALLY at a place where these items are meant for you. Until then, you can use them as motivation but try to not let them distract you from being successful and enjoying life

UNLESS you can find a e39 m5 with 200K mi

IMO

That maintenance life is NOT trill...

Unless you REALLY want a BMW and got it like that, I'd look elsewhere.

In all seriousness fam I'mma give you a legit answer, NO!

trust me when I say Beamers do cost a bit more to maintain, any beamer that cost 6-7 grand def is gonna need some maintenance. BTW 3 series are really for women.

OP just lease.
You might live check to check but the ******* that give you that double look will surely be worth it.

And who cares what year it is, if you're buying used, MILAGE is what you need to be concerned about , OP.
