NIKE METCON THREAD - 7s out now

yea, I`m just wondering about will there be actual "improvements" or is it just a design change, I like the Design of the Metcon 2 better (which there was an all black option).


Are you familiar with the Reebok Nanos? How do the Metcon fit compared to those? I have the 4.0s and they fit great (sz 13, wide foot) I ordered some Nano 5.0 in a 13 and couldn't even get them on my foot.

yeah the main improvement i have heard about these is a firmer heal. Im excited to try them out when they are released, someone a few pages ago is a tester i guess and tried them so you could ask him his opinion. The 1s where a little too cushioned for me, i prefer the nano 5.0s personally even though im not crazy about them in the look department. and i wear a 13 in both the nanos and metcons but i haven't tried the 4.0s.

Gotcha, I like my 4.0s the 5.0s were too tight for me, like not "need to be broken in tight" but "this fits like the wrong size" tight. They barely make in 5.0s in a 14 which is why I am now looking at the metcons.

Pardon me if it has already been mentioned, but is there a release date for the Retcon 2? Trying to see if its worth waiting for them , and if I do wait is it expected that the Metcon 1 will drop much in price?

Sports authority just knocked 20 bucks off them. I imagine there will be other discounts as the 2 gets closer to dropping.

I just came back from a deployment over seas and used my METCONs damn near everyday walking through dirt and sand. Great shoe, I've had no issues with running 3 - 7 miles at a time in them. I use to run full marathons some I'm very particular about what I run in, I may take a shot at a half marathon in them.

Talked with a Nike Athlete and they said they are already testing the 3.0s and with the 3.0s Nike will also be launching a more running type metcon as well. Kind of like how reebok has the Sprint Nano

I wear my pair way more after blacking them out. Just looks a lot cleaner to me. Now my invictus pair has been cast aside and hasn't left the closet in months.
