Lord Jamar : "Eminem is no Different than Macklemore" + Royce & Jamar talk about it on Twitter

There is a huge difference in "Skill" level but what he's saying is right. There benefiting from the machine that's backing
them both. I really don't see how anyone can disagree with this. A few things like the lack of soul in Em's music I don't
agree with. I feel everything he raps about comes from a true place, along with Mack. Lord clearly is pissed off but I
completely understand why.

Im not saying this to question what u saying but just as a straight question but who in rap thats successful is not benefitting from the machine?

I agree, most successful ish type of artist have something behind them. I just think there are different
vehicles pushing certain artist further in the game then others. An example would be "I" by K-dot,
if that was Mack's song it would be on top 40 all day and be praised. Clearly it's not going that route
in K-dot's market. Maybe the people don't want to hear that type of sound from him or not.

Eminem was fledging before 1999/2000. Listen to the "Infinite" album from '96. Em clearly also says AZ and Nas were his biggest influences. For the record, Canibus is an equal or better lyricist than Eminem. Macklemore and Eminem both have had substance abuse issues. Macklemore had songs and albums on itunes well before "Thrift Shop". He changed up his style to make money and jet out of the game...

Not hating on Mack by any means, I've been around him before he blew. Use to come up to the school and flow with
everybody else. He's a genuine dood that just wants to rap. He just got with a producer that made a more commercial
style of music that worked. But his shows in Seattle that I remember were always packed, but this was when his name
big in the town. His grind is real.

The Heist dropped in 2012. So I'll say the songs carried over into 2013. For a relatively "new" mainstream artist, why hasn't he dropped more songs or been on more features in 2014? I don't see a grind. Appears as if the grind subsided, post-accolades.

That song just isn't that good, IMO. Wouldn't matter who was rapping. Joint is the epitome of "meh". Lazy *** sample and hook. Great message but it just isn't that great of a song.

Did not watch. Jamar a clown. I don't really ***** w Em but comparing him to Mac is like comparing ASAP Rocky to Scarface. Disrespectful.

What Sadat and Puba be thinking of this clown :smh:

Kinda of true, before back home he was grinding shows left and right but now its pretty dry.

Eminem is not to be mentioned in the same breath as ANY new artist... Not white... Not black... Or green @lordjamar I'll elaborate

His contributions to the artform put him in a different discussion.. Not his talent.. His talent is what got your attn in 2000 @lordjamar

He helped architect the Chronic 2001.. MMLP is arguably a classic.. He signed 50 cent.. @lordjamar

He signed 7 good brothers from Detroit and changed their lives @lordjamar .. He did a movie that put the battle rap culture on a pedestal

These are just to name a few.. These aren't accolades.. They're contributions @lordjamar

Royce handled that well. Jamar needed to be taken to task over his commentary on race lately. Dude is delusional.

Infinite needs to be mentioned more in Em's catalog.

Stopped listening after "what's different about him" ... People can say what they want, but Eminem was nicer than the majority of ****** when he dropped.

Who the hell are we to determine what "peoples" can learn an art, master there craft, and contribute?

Yes. Great album. The title track still blows my mind.

I don't ever want to hear Lord Jamar's name again

If we could ship this 40 year old early 2000's wardrobe wearing clown off to space all would be right in the world. He needs to keep other artists names out his mouth.
