Im no Cavs fan, nor am I Bron fan. I give credit when its due and he is the best in the game today.

I dont have numbers or facts to back up my question, its just from watching what Cavs games do get shown in my area. James does not seem like that force to be reckoned with as he was the past few years in Miami.

I remember seeing this same question asked on some show so figured NT could weigh in on it ..

Nope LeBron is just pacing himself. He knows he can't get the season shortened so he's just taking things easy till the games matter.

Lol.

Kobe overrated thread.

Peyton overrated thread.

Now this one.

All trash.

yeah I think he is actually gonna retire in 2 weeks when he realizes he's no longer 29

I wish he tried to average a triple double just once. I know it's tough and incredibly laboring but he had the talent to do it.

Isn't it clear he's not going to get any better? He's beginning the decline every athlete meets when they've spent as much time playing as he has.

Most likely, yes.

I don't expect him to dramatically fall off... but he's no longer at his peak.

It's a shame we didn't get to see him with a team like Miami earlier in his career. While there were fun moments in Cleveland, Mike Brown's offense didn't do him any favors and having Mo Williams the All-Star and 50 year old Shaq being his running mates... that's a shame.

It's too bad Mike Brown insisted on playing at a dirt slow pace and playing in the half court whenever possible. I would've liked to have seen him play in an uptempo offense when he was still the best athlete in the league.

Wait, OP. You sure he's the best today? I think Kobe is right there with him.

LeBron hasn't really peaked. He can still improve his perimeter shooting and get a tighter handle on the breakdown dribble and handling overall. Let's give him a couple more seasons and then reconvene.

That doesnt mean he still didnt reach his peak

Hes still in his prime but he reached his peak in 2012, thats when he was officially at his best

This dude.

And we're really questioning whether or not a 30 year old athlete has peaked? Men hit their physical peak around 27 give or take and then it's a pretty steady decline from there.

It's not RIP Lebron though he's still got another 5-6 years at an elite level if he wants it barring injury. Skill and savy will help offset the physical decline.

he definitely has peaked. he's not going to get any better than he's been. he might get back to prime form, but we've seen the best of LeBron. dude has plateaued and will not be on the decline for another 6+ years or so. he'd pretty much have to average 30 points game and 10 assists to really get better. Dude is still phenomenal and has much left in the tank, but nothing will blow us away like his last year in Cleveland through his 3rd year in Cleveland.

Lebron has peaked athletically but as an overall player it will be hard to see while playing with Kyrie

Looking over my old post from the NBA off season thread..so many dudes were laughing that I said lbj was about about to start breaking down and had two great years at most left....I just never felt his game would age well......
One dude stated he had 4 prime yrs left another 7 ... Yea those dudes were laughing at me [emoji]128514[/emoji]

well see...

My bias aside.... Mileage matters just as much as age... came in playing a boat load of mins since day one you can only play so many minutes..... We've seen the best of lj and that's not to say he sucks now but #1 player in the world I don't think so......

plateau. he's hasn't lost a step already. he's changed his body (some say he's off the hgh) and is trying to adapt to a different role/playing style especially with his team. he should be back to normal come playoff time. worst case scenario next year.

his decline is still another 6 years or so off. the only thing that I may say it comes sooner is that he had a way more stressful and physical style of play than kobe in his early years in Cleveland. that may take it's toll a little sooner, but I doubt it.
