I read HBO wouldnt touch his June fight unless he commited to Canelo before year's end.

Dont know how much truth there is to it

Yessir, that's redemption right there. Still don't know if Russell is gonna be good enough to get that Lomanchenko loss back, but he just ran through Gonzalez. Good to see the hometown fellas making some moves! Next month Lamont is about to give Swift that work too!!!!

j/k, hope he can make it interesting though

Was not surprised, well I didn't think it would end via TKO. Still thought Gary would win vs UD. Good win, so what happens to the rematch with Mares? Mares will probably just want to chase Gary. Gary probably won't give Lomachenko a rematch. Even Nonito Donaire won today, so many intriguing matchups in this division.

Nonito fought at 122 and he did say at 126 when he fought Walters that the guys were too big. I Don't think we'll see him at 126 but money talks you never know

I wouldn't call it that, but he barely squeaked by. Martirosyan is still in his prime and not someone washed up, but I guess most people including myself expected him to do as well as Andrade to make future match ups more intriguing.

I'd like to see him against Andrade. Doubt we'll see Andrade against GGG or Lara like he's been talking about anyway.

I figured Brook, Gary Russell Jr., and Charlo would cruise to wins, so I didn't care to watch. Gary Russell needs to try to get a rematch with Lomachenko now.

Lomachenko is all wrong for Russell Jr. I would like to see it again. But now that Russell has the strap and Haymon would have to work with Top Rank its unlikely.

Glad to see Russell bounce back last night.

It was pretty much a man on a redemption mission vs an emotional fighter who had a heavy heart do to the loss of his friend a week earlier, you could tell Gonzalez wasn't in the right mindset.

Shout out to Ray Mysterio Jr and Konan in the ring last night, felt like NWO was about to reunite  :smokin

And for those who didn't see the video of Gonzalez friend dying in the ring:

Not sure how he died, may have caught a seizure :frown: :frown:

From watching the match I thought he landed wrong on the ropes, they said trachea trauma

Call me a bad friend but the loss imo had nothing to do with his friends loss. If my friend passed away yes I would be sad but my job/career iin this case boxing match is my main focus. Now if it's an immediate family member I would say yeah his mind wasn't there. Last night he just got beat by a better boxer, without or without his friends loss he was never favored to win.
